You might want to think that they might have had enough and don't want to be re-elected???

Just a reminder that everyone that runs for the board (even those currently on it) have to be nominated for the next election.

So when has that stopped us from keeping them!! ;D I second that all are doing a very good job for the club. Tony is now our treasurer and keeps us very up to date, Ted is everywhere as well as heading up the SWCCCR in Greenville. Rich is constantly asked to please let the rest of us help him out because he does too much. We owe all of them big time. I will be nominating all of them for another term.

Yes russ I agree. I would gladly ask them first. Steve is right, they do a great job for the club on both sides and outside of racing. I know I for one greatly appreciate this group for all that they do. Rich does great on the autocross side. Tony has helped me when it came to F&C on the road race side. Ted, well it's ted lol. I hear that he does great things with the greenville area and with hillclimb. Great wide base group we have representing us.

Yes , all three are doing a great job. Still, I need to throw another hat in the ring. Jeannie Markowski. Solo people know her as the first person most of them see at an autocross. She is cheerful yet serious about her job. I am sure she will carry the concerns of the autocross community to the board. If, and only if, we find support on this forum, I will nominate her and serve as her campaign manager.
Thank you for your support,
James Farris

Just curious James, what is it you think the BOD needs to know about solo? With the money and time we have dedicated to the program in the last year or so (about $20,000) what are we missing? If there is some pressing need that we are missing you are always a phone call or email away. :D

Jeannie has a right to run for the CCR Board of Directors if she wants to do so, and if her name is placed in nomination by a CCR member.

Her reasons can be expressed publically by use of the proper avenunes traditionally made available in the CCR BoD election.

I am just a possible campaign manager. Both Jeannie and I are happy with the board and solo program. This is a "just in case", someone does not want to continue, someone has no time.
Also, if a pressing need does occur , Jeannie will be on the spot for the board.
It is also a fourth name on the ballot( If support is there), just so the vote is not a formality.

E-mail sent, Steve.

thanks,
James

Thanks James, I was worried there was some big problem not brought to my attention. Anyone is more than welcome to run for the BOD. Pay is the same as always, but I will put you in for a 100% raise. ;D And John Byrd you need to realize I have been friends with James for 20+ years and ran AX with him in the early 80's so he is well aware I was not insinuating anything.

I will say that I believe our SOLO AutoX program is good. Of course I haven't ran with many other clubs. The one big thing I would like to see is more people out and more one time novices to run again. I think this year we have done great with that. I'm sure anyone could look at results and see that almost every novice has ran more than once or regularly. Seems like we are doing something right. I'm proud to say that I'm apart of this club and the SCCA organization. Not to mention all of the great people I have met while doing it also.

It is a great club and we have an excellent board of directors. Hopefully they all want to run again. Jeannie would also be a great addition (replacement) to the team.

I have decided

I will NOT run for the Board this year

Thank you to all my supporters

I do not want to throw my monkey wrench into the gears at this time.

I feel the Candidates have, and will, do a fantastic job for our club.

However, if , and when , a Board member wishes to resign, I will be happy to run for a post at that time.

CCR received 3 nominations, those were the three incumbents. In accordance with the by-laws, no election is needed. All three incumbents will serve another term on the board of directors.

Lady, the road racers and the time trialers know you the same way! ;) All of our membership appreciates the role you (and James) have played in helping our club succeed. I know you would do well in whatever capacity you are given. Over the course of this year, there will be committees formed with specific tasks and special projects... we will need help to accomplish them. If you are available and interested, it would be great to have your input and help. There is a lot to be done and it will take more than board members... it will take good members doing their part to make it happen. Thanks!

Wait a minute, there were some dangling chads in the southern area of the region and some of the older folks (like me) had trouble understanding the process as explained by the Peanut Organization (not to be confused by ACORN). I request a recount! A do-over? Oh, well, I guess that Ted, Rich and I are stuck. I surrender. (Mi esposa threatened to not vote for me but she's been out-maneuvered again!)

Thanks all for the positive thoughts and comments. We will continue to work to make our club better with each passing year.
