Let's not start any emotional debates here Justin. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however blunt, regarding the team.
I remain undecided and will wait to hear input from others.

I know I personally have no say, my sponsor is on a competing team, and no one cares too much about what I say....
But, if I am not mistaken just because the guy runs in novice does not change the fact his pax is almost just as good in DS as your GS novice driver that is also on the team since novice being a class is broken up just like say tire class......
Wait a second, they race Toyotas in NASCAR now???

I think that's a bit harsh, Tony. Yes...He's not driving a Nissan at the AutoX's...but not because he doesn't want to. If he could...he'd be running his '76 280. Unfortunatly it's in a bunch of pieces at the moment. Dana is a Z Car guy to the core. And while we already have one novice driver....we have two BSP drivers, are you going to boot one of us off too? What if another car showed up that was running Tire? Would you keep him out too? I just don't see where the downside is. Also...if Lance got rid of his Spec V...would you kick him off the team since he'd be in a Honda? Justin, who are the two BSP drivers? Which ones of those two have contributed to our success? Dude doesn't drive a Nissan. End of story. What do you think the chances are that someone from TN actually sells/gets rid of their Autox car this year? This team is not forever, it is just this season. If something wicked strange happens and a current member were to get a non-Nissan this year to autox, then we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it. Being that they are already a paid and committed member, I would have a hard time saying they are 'kicked off' the team, lol. I hear that Team Beer needs some people. They have all makes of cars.

Team beer has FUN...and understands that this is FUN...and we look for any car that is FUN...including 800hp vettes, overblown Mustangs, rusty Fords, heavy Chevies, used stock cars and whatever you can drag in even if it wasn't something made in England or Tokyo....in fact - If we had another opening, I'd go drag the guy in with the dune buggy rail thingy...
Point is to have fun!

Well, I don't see areason why we shouldn't fill the roster with whatever talent we can muster. Trade/Add deadline is 7/8, so why not fill the 2 slots we have. We never said this was a NISSAN ONLY team.
You never know when someone can contribute, even I did one week!!

I'm sorry Justin, but I'm going to have to say no to this. This is team Nissan, not team Nissan + 1 Subi. I would like to keep things consistent for the season. And like Tony said, it's only this season, not forever. It's nothing personal against your friend, really it isn't, it's just the way some of us feel.

I'm going to agree with Tony and Brian. Personally I would like to keep Team Nissan for those who drive Nissans at events. I hope this does not hurt your or Dana's feelings.
The vote so far is 3-2 against the idea.

I'd went ahead and dropped Andy Crawford, no offense to Andy, but we haven't seen him at any events and he hasn't been on the board for a while. If anyone objects to this drop please speak up. Steve, I told you to drop me forevar ago. I busted my hump trying to get the car ready for a HPDE at VIR on June 11 & 12, and succeeded. So I now have a running, fairly quick car. At 2350 lbs. (best guess) with the following output, it should do well for Team Nissan assuming you guys'll let me back in: In terms of my participation, I moved recently and spent a lot of time on the house and getting the car ready, which didn't leave a lot of time for autocrossing. As it stands, my plan is to attend the following: August 12 CCR #6 (Statesville Auto Auction) October 7 CCR #8 (NTI) November 11 CCR #9 (Statesville Auto Auction) LMK what you guys think. I'd like to contribute, btu don't want to concurrently be a boat anchor. -Andy

Well, that sucks cause I thought you were done for the season. The rules state that once you drop someone from the team, they cannot be added back on.

Damn, I wish we had known Andy, but the rules are the rules. Oh well... And is that the sr20det? You need to turn the boost up...like a lot! haha A DET not making more power then my truck motor makes baby jesus cry. What were you running there? 5-6psi? Even with the t25 you can push that sucker to 12-13psi before it maxes out, which should be good for ~230-240whp. And that sucker is running RICH above 5500rpms, lean it out closer to 11:1 and you'll make more power. Good job getting it together btw, can't wait to see it in action.

Damn, I wish we had known Andy, but the rules are the rules. Oh well... Conformists! Rules were meant to be broken. And is that the sr20det? Of course it's a SR, how else could I maintain my "mad-tyte" status? It's the stock T25 at the stock WG setting of 0.5bar (7psi) on the stock SMIC. You are probably used to seeing higher boost numbers coupled with front mounts. I could use my HKS WG actuator to up the boost, but I'm on a borrowed turbo for now... I have no way of fuel tuning at this point outside of adjusting the FPR, which isn't a very good method. Honestly I have no reason to on an otherwise-stock setup. Future plans differ as I will eventually upgrade the turbo, MAF & injectors. Brian, get your ass back on CarolinaNissans. -Andy

Hey....look who upgraded for NTI. Steve's running his Cayman S in Tire against Tony this weekend.....

I am running the Cayman S for this event and maybe the next (can't make it to the 12hr, family in town) - then it is back to the Z since I still have some tread on the R-compounds which I need to wear off!

Steve - It is very important that you park the Cayman S near me. I need to check this bad boy out. ;D

Ok.....so here's who's signed up for NTI....
Shin, Steve - GS Alspaugh, Justin - BSP Schmitz, Brian - DSP Elbertson, Lance - STX Sightler, Marvin - GSN Ignatz, Tony - TBS Prince, Steve - TSS
Once again, we've got at least 5 classes....so we'll be good in that respect. Has anyone heard from Mike Bright? Faulkner is signed up....so we need Mike to counteract Rob. lol
And even though Ken is signed up....I left him off the list. When I spoke to Deb yesterday, she said he was doing ok....and that she was hoping they'd let him go home soon.

Better yet Steve, you can ride with me and tell me how to drive this bad boy! Dave McKenzie has already alluded that I need to use the vertical pedal on the right more!

Welp....no sign of Mike Bright on the pre-register screen.
Oh..and Steve....I'm an instructor now...so I can ride with you...assuming I run before you do, of course...and you want me too.

Tomorrow is the deadline, right? Any idea whom we could add to the team? Dunno how many events Ken is going to be down....and with the current group we've only got 6 classes covered.

oh and for everyones Info
Justin did his first and most likely only STU2 class run today
I put him in as STU2-007 he does have that Bond look but Way shorter, and no accent, plus no gun, and never in a suit, plus bond would never hit a cone, or the lights, and Lastly I dont think a Z350 has room for all the mods a Bond car Requires. Get a Subaru Wagon You bond Guy you.

Convince Steve to "bend" the rules and you have one more class covered. -Andy I wish I could man, but that's two rules to break, the first is once dropped a driver can't be added back on, and we have a rule that after Event #5 you can't add or drop anyone, kind of like a trading deadline. Sorry bud.

with the current group we've only got 6 classes covered. Uh, that's incorrect. Our 10 drivers cover 8 different classes: BS - Ken GS - Steve S and John BSP - Justin and Steve P DSP - Brian STX - Lance Pro - Mike Tire - Tony Novice - Jr.

Ah, ok, that makes sense.
Moving forward though, having 8 classes covered is sufficient. We haven't once failed to meet the minimum 5 different classes this season and the majority of our drivers make it to every event.
Team Competition doesn't just award fast driving, but also regular attendance and a diverse team of drivers in different classes.

All right Team Nissan, we have 4 events left and a slim 8 point lead on the Subaru guys for the season points. Everyone, especially me, need to improve our driving and post some fast pax times during the home stretch.
