After talking it over with several captains and drivers, I wanted to propose the following: - I have collected $470 from the 2007 competition awards, which is supposed to go entirely to the winning Team Nissan drivers.
- My idea is to use some of that money for one huge plaque that can be used for 10+ seasons, with each year's winning team appearing on the plaque after every season.
- The rest of the 2007 money will go to buying shirts for Team Nissan.
- Therefore we do not need to collect any money for the 2008 competition.
- From now on, the winning team (or any team) can collect their own money if they want to create their own shirts or other items.

I just wonder ,,, hmm ,, will the plaque be displayed on or in the CCR Trailer for all to see?

In all seriousness here, I personally have no issues with not getting something personal and tangible for the Team Competition but I dont know that others feel the same.

Crazy thought here. I was going to explore other avenues but then it just came to me. What if we still collected a fee from each team member, then we took that money and bought some cones? We could take the cones and stencil them with the winning team name and year.

We could take the cones and stencil them with the winning team name and year. BTW, we have 61 people this year on teams. We can get standard issue 18" cones at $6.50 each on an order of 50 or more. For $1 extra per cone they will do the stencil work for us with no setup charges. So 50 cones with stencil work would be $375 plus freight. Each cone is about 4lbs so someone can do the math on shipping costs for 200lbs. |

I'm not in favor of that.
Originally, we were to decide what to do with the $10 entry fee. I guess that fell through the cracks.
I suggest we go back to the 07 thread....magnets? T-shirts? Individual trophies? Stickers that one can turn into magnets? Dash Plaques?
How bout a wall plaque with 12 spots for engraving to add each member's name for display in the trailer?
There are lots of possibilities out there.
Perhaps even giving the prize fund to the winning team and let THEM decide how best to commemorate the win (solo's chair's approval).

Since I had zero involvement with the 2007 competition my suggestion was not intended for last years money. As it stands this year, being both a team member and helping track results I figured I would put the idea out there as another way we could help our region. In reality I dont care if its $0, $5, $10 whatever per person but if we are simply collecting money to provide the winners with stickers, magnets, or other 'personalized' trophy type items, my vote is for $0. The contributing (aka top 5 pax times per team) people should already be rewarded with some type of trophy through the regular competition.
