I'm a brand new to SCCA and I'm attempting to interpret the rule book but I need some help.
13.1 - If a modification is not specifically authorized in this or previous sections of these Rules, it is not allowed.
Above is a picture of a "mid-chassis brace" (the one that is under the resonator, shaped like a Roman numeral 2) that I have. My interpretation is that this is not allowed in ST since I can't find a specific rule in the Stock or ST classification that says whether I can or can't have it...is that correct?
14.4 - Any wheels are allowed with widths up to the following:
ST, STS, STR (AWD) – 7.5”
Does this mean any offset or does it have to comply to the offset limits in Stock category? What does this mean for wheel spacers (specifically 0.25" spacers)...allowed or not?
14.6.A - Cross drilled and/or slotted brake rotors may be fitted (same size/type/material as standard) provided all such voids are within the disc area, and comprise no more than 10% of that area.
The above picture is of the rotors I want to upgrade to. Does this count as more than 10%?
14.8.A - Springs must be of the same type as the original (coil, leaf, torsion bar, etc.) and except as noted herein, must use the original spring attachment points...Coil spring perches originally attached to struts or shock absorber bodies may be changed or altered, and their position may be adjustable.
I read this as being allowed to change my stock MacPherson strut front sus. to an adj. coilover system as long as it mounts to the original holes...correct?
14.8.C - The following allowances apply to strut-type suspensions: Adjustable camber plates may be installed at the top of the strut and the original upper mounting holes may be slotted.
This means I can replace the top bushing on coilover to a pillow ball and adj. camber/caster mount set up, again using original holes...correct? Does this also mean that the mounting holes in the body's sheetmetal can be slotted?
Lastly, I replaced my front seats with OEM Mazdaspeed seats of the same material and are a direct bolt-in. This is only allowed in SP, rule 15.2.F. I will argue that my seats are of no performance advantage (infact they are bigger which means they are probably heavier) and that I should have a provision on this one and stay in ST...is that a problem?
I know it's a lot TIA, ClemsonMZ3
