Dad's got a 73 MGB that finally after 20 years of ownership and 10+ years of sitting he's wanting to get back on the road.
Need a mechanic in the Charlotte area to do some work on it though, carbs rebuilt, sync'd, tuned. Need clutch master/slave replaced and brake master too I believe. Probably a few other things as well, but at the moment, I think that's the only stuff that keeps it from moving.
The old dual SU carbs are the big part, havent had much luck messing with them myself.
Anyone know any british car shops in the area?

SU tuning is a PAIN!! I was taught how almost 20 years ago by a guy in Hickory, no idea if he's still alive... he was British Leyland's top mechanic in the south east back in the 60s and 70s. Watching him tune SU's was amazing!!
Too bad Charlie Overton died last year. He could do it in his sleep...

James Farris knows mg's better than anyone I know. I am throwing my endorsement behind him. SU's aren't hard to tune once you learn how.
