So, I have a 1995 Nissan 240SX that I bought with no front end. To drive it daily, I half-assed an S13 240sx front end onto it until i could gather the parts I needed to repair it correctly. I'm going to be in the middle of putting the correct stuff on for the next few weeks, would my car technically flunk tech for not having fenders or a front bumper cover? Other than that, the car is in a condition that would pass tech, good wheel bearings, batterytiedown and such. I'm not even concerned about classing, I've not autocrossed in years so I'm not going to be competitive anyway, I just want to get some seat time in this car (or anything else) desperately bad.

What's key is if anything is loose and could possibly come off during a run. All body parts have to be on securely, so during tech inspection they'll check for that.

I won't have to worry about the fenders and front bumper being mounted securely because there are none. I'll make sure and get the hood very tightly pinned down, and make a battery holddown. See everyone there, I'll be the guy in the open-wheeled Formula 240sx

From 18.1.A.1 of the SOLO rule book in reference to DM and EM: 18.1 MODIFIED PRODUCTION-BASED CARS 1. The shape of the body must remain recognizable as that of the manufacturer’s make and model. The body must be made of a fire resistant material. Doors, hoods, trunk lids, sunroofs, hatchbacks, etc. need not function as originally designed. Bumpers, grilles, lights, glass, and trim may be removed. Side mirrors and tail/stop lights are not required.
It seems like EM is the best class to register in, but missing fenders makes the car illegal. If you're just coming for seat time, I'd say to register in EM, not EM-N (Novice). Roadboy is the only EM car, so I'd say to talk with him and get his OK for running... then you'll be set.

inertiaticism, I don't mind if you run in E-modified. Over the last two years, I've only had one other car give me competition in EM. So I doubt you'll be a problem. ;D See ya there. I look foward to seeing your unique car.

Thanks a lot guys, I really am just there for seat time. If you see a guy with a fenderless 240sx, come by and say hello.

I'm Chris Stroud, I've probably met the majority of you at one point or another. I'll be there with my friend Adam in a blue E30 Bimmer, it's his first event. I used to run a black/black Focus ZX3, and an A2 VW Jetta before that. I don't make it to events very often, but I try to make it to the 24hr no matter what. I'm really looking forward to getting a feel for this new car.
