Back on topic. The bathrooms worked. So did grid. And the PA system. And that guy in the paddock who sold helmets. And my tires.

Well - I haven't put in my $.02 worth ---
Great Course - had a blast with it in the Fiesta - slaloms are fun! Thanks Rob!
Lighting was a bit of a problem = We ended up parking for the night. no big deal.
Other items: - Thanks to all who showed up for work assignments. HUGE thanks to those who worked extra sessions or jobs to keep it moving. Greg - thanks for filling in at work stew for 4am (Colin and I passed out for a couple!)
Obviously there are a few folks quite upset that workers didn't show up, and some sound like they are unhappy with the work stews for not "enforcing" the rules. Well, the Club makes the rules and currently we don't punish offenders unless we see folks who habitually avoid work assignments. Last year Colin and I were roaming the parking lot at Dixie knocking on car windows to wake up workers at 2 & 4 am.
- Some jobs (safety, work, chair, etc.) need some additional help. The folks in these roles are at it for the full 24 hours - and may be lucky to get a couple hours of shut eye.
- Next year - we may want to establish work sessions by simply putting the entrants on the list.... you get what /when we give you - you don't pick when you want, etc.
This was a great event - Thanks to Continental Tires, Steven Rankins, Rob Falkner, and many others for putting on a unique and fun event. We will do it again and again!!!

I wunner if reflective tape on the Key cones would help. Some of the cones had some reflective on them, and you could see them.
Yeah, I know you 20 somethings could see, but Team 18+5 wus strugglin.

Basically the people who did work, worked for the people who didn't. Those who did not work had no right to enter into the event and should have stayed home!!! One thing that would help for the future is for the worker steward, the one that gives assignments at the beginning of the event, to MAKE SURE people signing up can and will do their work assignment. If they DON'T work they DON'T run. We should keep better track of people working. This is the responsibility of the worker steward, its what you signed up for. I am not saying you did bad at this event, people not showing up is not your fault. Simply make sure people know that they must work and why. If they don't work we will shoot them. By keeping better track of people we can make a list of those that don't work. We'll need their names. At future events we can have this list at registration and if they show to another event, we penalize them. Charge them double or something like that. I say we beat them senseless!!! People will not be allowed to get over on the system that makes autocross work, you will not get over on me or others that do their part to do it right for everyone!!!!!!!! Yes this is a very opinionated post, but if you don't like it i don't care. I believe most people here will agree with what i have said. And believe it or not I have left out much of what i could have and wanted to say. Also, THANKS to all the honest hard working volunteers that made this event great, with the shortage of workers. David, the work stewards do, in fact, track whom has and hasn't worked. It's not their decision or responsibility to do anything about slackers - only to report them when asked. I don't think a better record of whom has or has not worked can be taken than what Shane and Colin already do. Remember, there are only 2 work stewards covering 24 hours, as well, and they worked their butts off - Shane was covering DSSS as well. They should get to have some fun to. But your points are well made, and we can try to "design" around some of those points in the future. It's really up to all of us to rattle some cans if we have to.

As a member of 18 to +5 racing, I would second that! There were cones that looked black and without my night vision goggles they became part of the Fiesta undercarriage. Colin and I decided to just park it.

Colin and I decided to just park it. I third that! I finally gave up... lazer correction vision is a wonderful thing but it kills the sharpness of your night vision to some degree. Okay for night driving but not for autocrossing. It's still a wonderful event and my son TJ had a blast into the wee hours. Don't change a thing. I would like to file an official complaint against Jbyrd who... with malice of forethought, intentionally chose his black Z3 to run at night, knowing that he could leave the prescribed well marked course from time to time and no worker would notice in the blackness of night! ;D That's okay... next year, I'm painting the Miata asphalt gray for day events. James ... nice to see you and meet your wife. Glad you got a run with TJ! Look forward to next event. Steve R... thanks again for a great event! Appreciate all you do for the club!!

Shane and Colin both did a GREAT JOB. I did not mean to put them down or say they were slack in any way. I did say "I am not saying you did bad at this event, people not showing up is not your fault.". By what you said JB, it sounds like worker stews have already done what we need, great. I apologize for offending anyone with the previous post, I was venting some frustration. Thanks again to all who made the event great, and that means you too Shane and Colin (our top class worker stewards).

obviously some of the radios didn't hold their charge for 24hours as they should have. Like everything else about a 24 hour event, things don't go as planned. A few changes should have it covered for next year. Sorry for not bringing the chargers.
