Novice class points with changing car class?

I know that if you are running in a regular class, that changing from one class to another means all of your previously earned points are not carried over, but my question is what happens in Novice class.

I am currently driving a silver Mazdaspeed 3 in STU with a PAX correction of 0.830. The only mods I have are a CAI and rear motor mount, neither of which have much impact on my times. If I go back to stock I will be in DS with a PAX correction of 0.812. This means that on a 30 second run my PAX will be 6 tenths quicker.

I am just currious as to whether switching classes mid season will result in a loss of the points I have earned up to this point.
