To all CCPS Saturday competitors, I apologize for causing the caution during Saturday's race. I didn't realize until later how long it lasted. If I could do it again, I promise that I wouldn't have smacked that wall and damaged Estus' car so badly. For those of you who care, the ribs, neck, foot, and knee are getting better with every passing day. (I can burp, sneeze, cough, and other things with only moderate pain now) People keep telling me that my head has never been "right", so I guess we won't worry too much about that.

Glad to hear you are ok. Saw the poor car and was wondering what happened to the driver. Just one of those things, Racing is Racing.

Scott "it'll buff out" Franklin Statistics show that it's entirely likely that a knock caused positive damage and you are closer to "right" now than you were before. Either way, we love ya' and glad you are okay. Heal fast.... more fun ahead without jarring impacts. ;D

Hit the wall driver's right at (road course) turn 5.

"Hit the wall driver's right at (road course) turn 5" is an understatement.
On the bright side (pun intended) CCPS can now say the series ran a night race on the oval at CMS. True, it was all behind the pace car at reduced speed, but....
Scott, if you hadn't caused the caution, someone else would have. I watched part of the race from the Turn 3A area, and there wasn't enough light to see hardly anything, even when the cars with lights came by. I don't know how the cars without lights made it through. You certainly couldn't see the corner stations.

"Hit the wall driver's right at (road course) turn 5" is an understatement. QUITE the understatement. It moved a giant Jersey Barrier nearly a foot and rotated it 45 degrees. The forklift they brought out to put it back in place couldn't even pick it up to move it. Damn straight! I was working turn 5 and we kept getting pelted with rocks as cars came through. The Spec Racer Fords were the worst. They didn't have lights, so they couldn't see the road... and worse... we couldn't see them. Every time we saw a puff of dirt from up the hill, we knew to duck and run. And while your impact did nearly take off my head thanks to the back glass ejecting itself... at least we could see you coming! Glad to know you're (mostly) okay. I was worried on my first day flagging I was about to see something terrible, but when you stepped out of the car... WHEW... I was relieved. Hope you're feeling better soon, and if you need some of that glass back, I'm still picking pieces out of everything I own!

Larry, Even with the headlights, I had trouble seeing in 3A and 3B. I think part of it may have been my eyes adjusting to the decreased light of the infield after the daylight of the oval. It was pretty tough to see either the yellow line or the white line. Man, I can't tell you how bad I feel about screwing up that race.........

Scott, everyone was more worried about you. Glad your well. Plus, we got some good photos and fun out of the situation. Good sport. The owner seemed to just be shrugging his shoulders about the whole thing as well.

AJ, it's cuz the owner wasn't THE OWNER. Estus was renting me someone else's car he was the caretaker to. Estus isn't worried about it and I'm quite happy at what the repair bill has come to be. While I don't recommend wrecking a rental, Estus and the whole ESpeed gang couldn't have been better about the situation.
