I'm in. Hopefully my son will be able to make it, if school allows. I'm also trying to talk my brother into coming and running the school.

Registration is open on www.motorsportsreg.com. We will have rental AMB Transponders available. If you want to bring somebody to help work a corner, that is always welcome. There will be a PDX also. It will be limited to 2 run groups (20 cars).

Just checked the entry list for TGPR. Dustin and I are the only CCR members listed, let's get busy and enter folks. We want to maintain our record of having the most participants in the SEDiv TT program from our region. I've wanted to run this track for longer than I can remember and the Lord willing, will this time.

$3500, a lifetime membership, and two sets of Hoosiers and we can talk.
I'm sure you can get Steve to pitch in....
And Tony, since he started this.
Or I could talk Spoon into running for the board.

Racer Parts Wholesale has named us one of the 50 events they will sponsor this year. That means decals and swag. The Sat evening social could get interesting
What would you think about a extra competitive event on Sunday? Everyone throws $10 in the pot and then gets to run to see who can get closest to their best time.

Craig, Up the ante high enough and I doubt some of these characters will finish more that one lap in the first 15 minute timed session on Saturday and sit out the rest of the day and look for their "Pot O' Gold" on Sunday! 1st Lap 899.9999 seconds

I'm starting the last minute scramble to get the car ready. Need to put a list of the minimum gear and parts needed to at least get around the track. This season is going to be awesome!

:oTrack Trial drivers be advised that SCCA has now changed level three and up TT Helmet certification to Snell SA05 or SA10. The main difference in the helmets is the Hans attachment points.

:oTrack Trial drivers be advised that SCCA has now changed level three and up TT Helmet certification to Snell SA05 or SA10. The main difference in the helmets is the Hans attachment points. That's not the difference in the SA2010 spec at all. There are extensive changes, but it's mostly in the testing procedures to make it less one of 'one test fits all helmet sizes'. Here's a link about it: www.circletrack.com/safety/ctrp_1106_helmet_safety_standards/viewall.htmlThere is a new snell spec that includes a test for the head and neck restraint points ( SAH2010), but it's not required by SCCA. The change is the standard club racing and TT level 3 and 4 accept only the two most recent Snell SA specs change that happens every 5 years...

The Circle track article was before actual production which ended up using the same size offerings for SA2010 as SA2005. The testing is different as far as impact but the better quality SA2005 helmets have the same 275g head impact reduction anyway. Simpson says that the major change is the attachment points.

Simpson may be speaking to the changes in their helmets specifically. The test is different than it has been in the past. You are correct that most helmets exceed both the 2005 and 2010 standards. Given that manufacturers typically do not publish these numbers, and Snell does not either, it's hard to tell how much any given helmet exceeds the standard. Don't believe me? Here's the standards: www.smf.org/standards/sa/sak2005/sa_k2005_finalwww.smf.org/standards/sa/SA2010/sak2010_finalThe mass of the head forms used in drop tests varies between 3.1 and 6.1 kg based on the size of the head form in the 2010 standard, and is uniformly 5 kg in the 2005 standard. In the old standard it probably underestimates the protection for small helmet sizes, and overestimates the protection for the largest one, due to the fixed weight that does not vary with head size. Also, if the standard is really no different as you say, why the ?

TGPR registration is doing well.
Sat PDX is full and Sun PDX has 3 open slots left.
There will be 13-15 TT Students which may be a record.
A few Track Records will fall as there are a couple of drivers gunning for them.
Racer Parts Wholesale has provided a great goodie package. RPW Shirts, RPW Tire Gauges, RPW Gift Certificates, RPW Catalogues, RPW decals.
Thanx to everyone for their support.
Registration is still open.
