My Time Trial Build Breakdown

I said I would make a list and breakdown of my investment in my Time Trial build of my 1995 240sx. I purchased the car wrecked from a friend and with A LOT of time and help from my cousin Robert McManus. I have a TT legal and fully prepared car ready for the 2012 Time Trial and Hill Climb season. Sorry it took so long Ted... As you can see it is a TON of information. I am very glad I kept such close notes. I am 100% certain I have left out some material costs and I could not begin to estimate the amount of time we have spent on her. But this is a VERY close figure to the exact amount of money I have in this build. I hope you guys enjoy and I am happy to answer any questions about it all.

Dustin - Thanks for posting the details!! I think a LOT of folks are scared of what it might cost to get into level 3 and 4 time trials (Track Trials and Hill Climbs). You've proven it can be done on a modest budget.

+1 to what Scott and George said. Maybe we should do our own version of Grassroots "20xx Challenge" for the hillclimbs? (maybe I should shut up and stop causing problems!!).

I get a substancial discount on safety gear if I can help anyone out that is getting in to the sport. Also have a fair supply of used 225/45/15 Hoosier Radials in race compound for average $50 each depending on condition. Have one set of A compound coming off as well. Also on set of 245/45/16 in R compound.

Thanks everybody. I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!! 2012 is going to be a blast! I forgot to mention that the rollcage I have in it is one 'X' bar short of being legal for IT classing because I think eventually it is going to end up in some door to door action. I may have to take you up on some tires Steve and I would still like to have the car teched before the TGPR Event whenever we can link up

Great job of building this car on a budget! Great that you and Robert could get together and do such a good job. Anxious to see what Robert does with his 240.

Anyone have any used 13 inch race tires they want to be rid of? Sophia needs some new-er shoes.
