This lead courtesy of this months Sportscar magazine. In the "Ghost Tracks" story, A very short blurb about an SCCA road race that used to be held here many moons ago. A runway site is just what we need, and it would make for one awesome Sneed's Speedshop Crosstrial. The 2nd runway is a few thousand feet long. That runway would be an easy 60 second course. |

Chester Airport is an active airport. There is a skydiving center that operates there every weekend. Given that student jumpers( and experienced) don't always land in the triangle I'm not sure this would work.

My friends went sky diving there once (I kept both feet on the ground and videotaped). Adam Schoonmaker was one of the crazy ones who jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. I never got a look at the runways, but if we can utilize the skydiving area, there were a couple of tables and a food stand and some running water bathrooms. If anything, the amenities will be good!

I'm sure we can work out the scheduling with whoever else shares the space.
IE- take a lunch break while they take off, do their jumps and return.

When we were there they had planes going up and people coming down every hour or so. I think it would have to be a whole day reserved for us only.

Mike, I'll get up with you Sunday and get you in touch with the uncle... he's got an S2k and I've been trying to convince him to auto-x for a while.. if it's in the back yard, he might just do it!
