It looks like I may try and race at ZMax on April 13th. I went on the SCCA Solo site and I cannot get the Car Class section .pdf to load. Can someone help me class my car? I'm only going to run a few races this year so I'm not concerned with the points or PAX, I just don't want to mess up someone who is racing for points in a class I may not belong. The car is a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V (Supercharged 6.2lt). I have only a few small bolt on Mods and a computer reprogram. I'm going to run everything else as stock including the tires. What class should I go in?

What bolt ons do you have and did the computer reprogram. Change the boost levels?

What bolt ons do you have and did the computer reprogram. Change the boost levels? Mild modification, it is a CAI system which included a re calibrated MAF Sensor and programming. Nothing internal, no pully swaps and thus no increase in boost. Only upgraded ~50hp over stock.

BTW: It is the sedan not coup so that may make a difference...I looked in December when I thought about running...and I believe if completely stock it was F-Stock, does that sound right to anyone? The darn page from SCCA site will not load for me, is there another source out there? I have actually only ever run SM2, T1 and Group X (NCCC) before so I'm actually quite ignorant of most other classes

Definitely f-stock if it were stock. I was kinda thinking SSP too but I really don't know.

Basically anything but internal? I believe it would be classed the same as BMW M5, Audi RS6/8, MB AMG 63 in a stock class. Personally I don't really care which category I'm put in, I'm more concerned with possibly taking points away from someone who is racing in the series. I don't ever want to take points away from someone when I'm just out having a few fun runs.

You could just run it as STO (Seat Time Only). No one really runs it for points.

Rick looking at the rulebook because your CTS is supercharged any modification jumps it right to SM. SM-T would be where the car belongs.

Yes you could run Tire class with SSP as your base class with street tires.
Most of the engine mods allowed in SP are bolt-ons, but you can port, balance, and bore your motor to a certain extent.
If you don't care about having any competition and are worried about taking someones points, then I'd just run STO like Josh said.

I've seen some other modified CTS-V's run in ESP, but they were older models, maybe 2005?

Even factory supercharged. The older CTS-v were n/a and therefore eligible for SP classes.

Seen as you're not concerned about points or a $5 trophy, run it as STO. I agree with Phil, it appears to be a SM car as long as the tire width is less than 275.

Thanks everyone for commenting and giving suggestions on this thread. I should have been clearer...I don't want to be miss classified (meaning running in a lower group where I would have an advantage), however I do like competing on the day verses other like vehicles. Heck, talking smack is one of the best parts of Solo Racing ;D In all honesty, its probably a moot point as I'm not going to push it very hard anyway I mean I'm even leaving in the child seat (Sans the Daughter) ;D AJ, if you feel it is OK, then I believe I will just run in SM Class again.

Run SM in Tire class (unless you plan on running stickies). Then you can trash talk with me. I'm not sure how many people are running in regular SM this year besides Joe in his Evo. He would be good competition though.

TSM is a good fit. If you run Tire, the talks between you and Andy could get quite humorous. Running open class, you and Joey would be HILARIOUS!!! Although I don't remember much chatter when we used to run against each other. The only trash I remembered talked was under my breath, "Damn Corvette. 800whp and the thing somehow drives relatively straight. And oh yea, he is WAY faster than me. What the crap can on a stick batman!" lol true story. You're driving of that monster was IMPRESSIVE

Well I was prepared to talk some smack but going up against a SC'd S2000 on an Auto-x course I don't think I will pose too much of a threat . Ya think maybe they could add in a 1 mile Straightawy to even out the odds abit?
