I am planning on attending the novice school on March 11 but when registering I have a slight delima. That is the car I have made for auto-x is waiting in the garage for UPS to deliever the parts I need to have it ready. I have another car that I will autox at the school if I don't get the other finished.
Ultimate question is, if i register one and end up bringing the other will this be a problem? Thanks

No Problem. I do it all the time - register a Saab, run a Corvette, break a Camaro, etc. This time I am registering a Camaro (C-Prep) and hoping to have a Fiesta (E-prep) car up and running. Just let the registrar know when you arrive and remember to re-class the car if needed.
Thanks for preregistering!

For the school the car and class don't really matter anyways...

Fifty preregistered for the school so far. Woof! That's a lotta pizza! 8-)Pdawg Uh oh. I wuz printing up 60 of the books and notes. Do we need more? Lemme know - PM or in thread. Also, I am posting this in a couple of the threads to keep a younger novice from being disappointed when they can't play with us. If you are under 18, or are bringing someone under 18 to drive at the event, make sure you fill out a minor waiver - signed by both parents!!!! (If a parent cannot be at the event, their signature is supposed to be notarized). It can be downloaded at SCCA.org The link for the waiver is: www.scca.org/Inside/Index.asp?IdS=0075A8-54F85D0&x=080|025&~=or, just search for Minor Waiver and it will come up as the "Minor Release and Waiver of Idemnity Agreement", under insurance.

Hey guys, I didnt start this thread but i have a question on the novice school so i thought id put it here. I am signed up to go, but my dad wants to go too, and when i tried to register him online it said it was full. So does that mean that the whole event is full or just the online registration? Bottom line.. is it possible for him to come and just register when we get there? Thanks!

I see names which I suspect may be registered by mistake on the entry list and.. 2. Some who are registered may not show up. No guarantees, but I would guess he could get in if he were there early to register on Saturday. I hope an official of the club will address this for you.

I would also add to Tweety's comment - A number of the registrations will be for helpers/instructors such as myself. I only registered a car in the hope that I could take the Fiesta (Montezuma's Revenge) out for a quick spin or two to see if it will hold together for the AX on Sunday. I would think there are some openings.
Books are printed and going to be bound up for the show on Saturday!

I would! We usually are pretty accomodating - no word from our "official" staff members, but I would step back to give a true novice my slot. I was registered primarily as an instructor and so I could get a couple of runs in with a new car.

saw in another thread where a couple folks had withdrawn to open up percieved list space (since they'd be teaching and whatnot). it let me register for the school now, yay. still will get there bright and early though.

I've lost my virginity!!! And it was with LagunaMiata!! WOW!! What a rush! Seriously, had a great time today at the Novice School. The classroom time was very informative! Lunch was great. Then the fun came. TIME TO DRIVE!!!!! As luck had it, LagunaMiata was unlucky enough to jump in my right seat. I gotta give the props to Laguna. He stayed with me for all of my runs, gave me terrific insight to the track, and actually taught me (on the 5th time ) how to find those dang slalom cones!!!! Great day!! looking forward to tomorrow!!! Many thanks to Laguna!!!!

I think maybe if I had Rich's (laguna's) seats, I might be able to drive better. What was that website you were telling me you picked those up from, again? Thanks.

Dallas and I had such a great time yesterday at the Novice School. What a first class event, organization and members !!! Many thanks to Jimmy and Casino when we blew the Saturn's head gasket. Also congratulations to Dallas, his first run yesterday, (first run ever) was a clean 53 in the stock 95 Saturn Coupe with normal tires. My best time was 55 with one cone and my first two were DNF.
