Thanks Clark, I can use your help with novices.
Thanks Mike, that's why I asked for names with posts.
I know we have some people with bad knees and backs needing a running free work assignment, don't be shy, and help out with reg, timing, novices and waivers.
And can we get some long time autocrossers to help. Just because you have been autocrossing a long time doesn't mean you can't help with some of the much needed jobs.

I was one with a bad back the last part of the year. Amazing how surgery can help. I should be able to do the running jobs come spring.

Thanks Randy, we can really use your help with novices. Much appreciated.
Thanks T-Ball, I have you down for helping with waivers, but I'd rather let Alan speak for himself.
I Really, Really need a Course Chief, someone to take care of chalking, flouring and making sure the work stations are ready with coolers and fire bottles.
Still have some more need of Timing and audit people. As well as more people to instruct novices.

As for starters, I am just listing jobs that are harder to fill, and everyone want to be a starter, so this job is easy to find help on the day of the event.

Mike, like Travis, I'm happy to handle flouring the course when needed. I did it at ZMAX a few times as part of the Friday course setup, but I know we can't always do it on Friday if the overnight weather forecast isn't good. In those cases, I can help on Saturday mornings too.

I certainly enjoy my wife's cooking, but I don't think I'm going to have much luck convincing her to wake up and fix something that early in the morning....I'll bring you a Pop-Tart or two.

I appreciate the help guys, but this is a volunteer organization and everyone should take on a small amount of the workload. We can't have the same 12 people doing all the work. It's ridiculous for a club of over 700 people to have so few that are willing to help with some of the needed tasks at each event.

I want to help but unfortunately work this year may keep from some events. I usually don't know until a day or two ahead. And that is a lot of notice.

It's ridiculous for a club of over 700 people to have so few that are willing to help with some of the needed tasks at each event. LOL! Mike, I can't say it's been that way forever, but I can say it's been that way since 1977! There are always a few hard-working souls who carry most of the load. The composition of that group changes over the years, but it's always just a few. Actually, you should feel pretty good that it's a dozen! That doesn't mean more of us shouldn't pitch in, but most clubs would give anything to have an autocross core group as large and talented as the one CCR has built. At this point, I can't commit the kind of time I once did. As it's been for the last few years, I'll count on chasing cones, and occasionally spreading lime/flour or helping clean up or whatever. And I'll do my best to be appreciative of those who can and do make the extra effort so the rest of us can play. Considering the numbers volunteering for setup and pre-event work, I hope there are still enough of us to shag cones!

Thanks Dean.
We'll be fine with shagging of cones, we still have plenty to go around. As for work positions, I am looking for people who can fill the various jobs, I'm not asking for a year long commitments. I know people will miss events here and there, which is why I am asking for multiple people to fill positions and get a list together of people who can do a particular job. So if you can do a particular job, post up and toss your hat into the ring.

Dean very kind words. What CCR has tried to do is break that "we've always done it this way" mindset and push the needle and change things. You've seen this and your support for it has been great! Thank you.
It takes a village to run zMax events, especially with the number of them we are doing each year. As said, we understand conflicts. Any help is appreciated. Our goal is to have more people capable of doing the jobs than we need. This way we have backfill for positions and can even rotate people in those positions. Timing can be quite stressful and getting a break for an event can be nice. The number of safety stewards we have available now is so much better than years past. I can speak from worker steward, it is hectic. I'm glad we have a few people who understand the role now and can rotate the responsibility throughout an event.
Let's continue to push that needle. Thank you everyone for your support.

Mike, I plan on doing all of the Charlotte area events this season and am willing to do whatever I can do to help you guys out. However, at this point I don't see myself doing the couple of events "deep in the heart of SC". That's just a bit far for me to travel. That being said, I am more than willing to step up if needed and do what I can to help out. If there is something that you would like to throw my way now or half way through the season, I am willing. Just let me know.

Another thing we ALWAYS need help with is cleaning up at the end of an event. If people can please stick around and help us pack, that would be fantastic!

And don't worry, we aren't doing too much in SC. We have CMP in May, and if we run a Black Lake event, SCR will be handling much of the workload for that event.
