I was pointed this way by the guys in the highalnds club. I wanted to do a novice class like the one scheduled for march 10 and I have some questions.
1. Are there more details coming later or did I miss a link somewhere?
2. If my daughter and I both wanted to take the class, can we share a car or do we each need one? (I'm assuming a car is required?)
3. Do I need to be a member of the SCCA?
4. Do I need my own helmet?
Thanks, Jay

Hi Jay, I'll try to give you some answers - No, you haven't missed a link. More details will be coming soon as we put the program together. If it is set up as in previous years, we have a couple of hours of classroom instruction and then you go on course for one-on-one with an instructor. Yes, you daughter can join in on the fun and you can share a car. However, if she is under 18 both parents will need to sign a minor waiver. If it is not signed at the event in front of the registrar you will need to have it notarized. BTW - The registrar is a notary. You can get a form at the first event (you can come and play w/o attending the class) or you can download it from SCCA.com. Just search for "minor waiver". It needs to be printed in color to be official.
No - you do not need to be a member of SCCA. Part of the novice school experience is to convince you that you want to be a member, since there is nothing more fun than autocrossing.
We have loaner helmets available. But, on a hot day we refer to them as "sweat buckets", so you may want to get a helmet of your own once you decide that this is the sport for you. We have a racing safety equipment supplier who comes to many of our events and has some great deals on helmets and other gear. His company is RFR racing products and you can find his ads in our For Sale section.
Feel free to PM me or to ask anything else about our events here. This is a great club and we love to meet new folks

Last years class was $40 for the class, including lunch. I don't have details yet from our fearless leader about this years school. When I do get the details I'll update here and the CCR web page.

Our registration process is handled via www.myautoevents.com. It is free to register with myautoevents, and then you just go to the registration page for the event of interest. We do not have that loaded up yet, but it will be soon as we finalize schedule and details. We will post the link on the CCRSCCA.com homepage soon - it will take you directly to the registration page.

We use it as a test. We figure if you can't drive a computer, we probably would be scared to watch you drive..LOL.
Seriously though - by registering online it really helps speed up the registration process. Especially if you read the rule book in advance and class your car. If you don't have a clue - we have a tech forum and you can tell us what you drive and what mods you have made. We can help class it for you....

This event has not been posted on the my auto events forum yet or am I missing it?
I was wondering if going to the novice and Intermediate is a good Idea for me?? I have never AutoXed but know curvy mountain roads very well. Steve Kornhous recommended that I did take both

wow another forum to sign up for?? Just about all autocross clubs that do on-line registration use MyAutoEvents. Once nice thing is that it saves your information, so you only key in all your data once. When you register for an event you just click SUBMIT and you're done. It's really very nice...
