2015 CCR Solo Supplemental Rules/InformationSCCA Rulebook: (will be published as soon as available) SCCA Fastrack: www.scca.com/about/?cid=444152015 PAX: home.comcast.net/~paxrtp/rtp2015.htmlEvent Conduct- EVERYONE on site must sign the SCCA waiver and have a wristband.
- Safety must be the first priority for all participants. Anyone who is reckless or out of control while driving on course, purposefully or otherwise, will be removed from the event
- Any participant seen speeding or driving dangerously on or around the site shall be disqualified
- All participants are expected to act in a sportsmanlike manner
- All participants must remove all trash from their areas
Supplemental Regional Classes- PRO - PAX Results Only class. This class is open to anyone wishing to compete. You will be competing on PAX Time based on your base class against everyone else in class.
- STM - Street Tire Mod. This class is open to anyone on 200+tw street tires. You will be competing on RAW times against others in class. This is the "run what you brung" class with very few restrictions other than street tires.
- Ladies - PAX class open to female participants. You will be competing on PAX Time based on your base class against everyone else in class
- Novice - Novice class will be an introduction to the sport. This class is open to anyone in their first year of AutoX, and may only be run 3 times. There will be no times posted, nor any points awarded. Novice participants will get one extra run, and are encouraged to take an instructor for all runs, or offer the extra run to an instructor to see what their car is capable of. Novices will get their times from the display/timeslip so they can track their progress, but times will not be posted with official results as it is not intended to be a competition class.
- Rookie - This class is open to anyone who has run Novice class during the year. It will only be run for the last 5 events of the year. You will be competing on PAX Time based on your base class against everyone else in class. This class will not meet the minimum number of events for a season trophy, but is still eligible for one. There will be no points drops.
In addition, season championships will be given out for grouped classes based on PAX. There is nothing required to enter these, they will be grouped based on base class results after each event. The classes will be - S - All Street classes PAXed together
- ST - All Street Touring classes PAXed together
- RT (Race Tire) - All Street Prepared, Street Mod, Prepared, and Mod classes PAXed together
Season Championship InformationPoints will be based on a percentage scale this season. Points are awarded based on (1 st place time / nth place time) * 100. For example, if 1 st place runs a 60.000 and 2 nd place runs a 61.000, 1 st place will receive 100 points and 2 nd place will receive 98.36 points. Each participant will get 3 points drops for the season. To be eligible for a Season Championship: - You must have attended at 6 of the 11 points events in a class to be eligible for a season trophy in that class.
- You must be a SCCA member before Points Event #4 through the last CCR Points Event.
For more information on SCCA membership, visit this link: www.scca.com/Safety Inspection / Vehicle IdentificationAll cars MUST pass a safety inspection before competing. Inspections will be done before each event, or in some cases, an Annual Tech Sticker may be issued. CCR will honor Annual Tech Stickers from other SCCA Regions and NCAC member clubs. All Cars Must Have Numbers/Class-Letters on both sides and the SCCA Solo National Rules will be followed, and enforced at time of tech inspection. Numbers must be of a contrasting color to the vehicle, or on a contrasting color background. Numbers and class letters should be positioned next to each other, and must be on body panels, not on windows. From 2015 Solo National Rules: Numbers must be a minimum of 8” high with a 1.25” stroke. Class letters must be a minimum of 4” high with a 0.75” stroke. In all cases, the height of the class letters must be between 25% and 75% of the height of the numbers. Stroke width must be at least 10% of the height. Karts may use a reduced size. Penalties for Failure to WorkWhen people fail to show up for their work shift or are late to check in for their work assignments by more than a few minutes, the consequences are shared by a larger group of people than you may realize. If you don't show up for your work assignment session - you will lose all your times for the day, and you will be required to work two sessions prior to driving at the next event. Exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the event chair or worker steward. These will be addressed on a case by case basis. CCR Autocross Passenger RulesOnly one passenger allowed per vehicle A novice driver, a driver with less than one years experience, is not allowed to have a passenger unless it is an instructor Passengers must at least 12 years old, and any passenger younger than 18 must have the Minor Waiver form signed by both parents/guardians. The parent/legal guardian signatures must be witnessed by either the registar at the event, a safety steward at the event, or the Event Chair. If the form is signed off site, then it must be notarized. The purpose of passengers is to expose a potential participant to the sport. It is not meant to show off to a friend. Anyone abusing this system will no longer be able to give a ride. Waiver of Liability for MinorsIf you are under the age of 18 and intend to be a participant in a SCCA event, you are required to have a "Minor Waiver of Liability and Indemnity". It may be signed in front of the registrar at the event - or IT MUST BE NOTARIZED if signed without the presence of a SCCA witness!! If you print the form, please do so in "COLOR" so it can be considered official. Please download the form from this site or the SCCA.com forms section. CCR Helmet ApprovalEVERYONE that has their own helmet will be required to have the helmet checked by a SSS or tech. The helmet must meet the rules (SNELL 2000 or newer). SA2015 helmets should be available in October, 2015. The SCCA has ruled that SA2000 will still be considered compliant this season A helmet that is not SNELL 2000 or newer can not be used. A DOT-only helmet can not be used. Helmets MUST meet the rules.

That seems like a big change for Novice/Rookie. Can I ask what the driving forces were for the change? I am really just interested in what brought that about as I ran Novice last season.

It's really not a big change from what we did last year. We still have the extra run, along with instruction for all novices.
We feel novices do not need to be focusing on competition right away. Their focus should be on improving from run to run, while getting familiar with the car and autocross. Once you get acclimated to autocross and show an interest, you can start competing later in the year in the Rookie Class.

The idea is that Novice/New drivers should put more emphasis on: 1. Having fun 2. Improving their driving and understandings of the sport more than trying to win a competition agaisnt other people who are as equally 'green' to the sport. It's hard to improve yourself if you're just trying to beat someone else at first. If you can't beat yourself, then you probably can't beat anyone else.

So, all you guys who did not completely wear out those 140 tw tires can't run them this year. But you can spend $$ to get the very same tires that now have the nice 200 tw on them. Or you can run those 140 tw tires in street prepared classes against R-Comps. Yeah, that is a nice cost saving rule.

Or, if you ran one of the already competitive 200tw tires last year, you are already all set!

since I drive a STS CRX there's zero evidence that one of the 200 TW tires would have been the tire to have
waiting now for the "new" Toyo to hit the market … supposed to be in a couple of weeks … we'll see … if they aren't around by the first of Feb I'll have to find something else for this season

True, there were 3 classes between Street & Street Touring that seemed to favor the toyos.

True, there were 3 classes between Street & Street Touring that seemed to favor the toyos. true … STS, STC (now the same class) some in STF and the miata in STR … don't know which cars in Street used them … there was a lot of internet chatter about one of the 17" that had the pixie dust compound all the way to the cords …there could be more, just no one tested to find out also, word is bouncing around that many/most of the sizes this time will be single compound …. I heard that on the internet, so it must be true

I'm really happy CCR is doing STM as a local class. I'll be able to autox my car with CCR and ETR when I can't find a PAX-competitive drive :-D
Looking forward to 2015 for sure.

is CCR still not allowing FIAT 500 Abarths? #15002 Fiat 500 Abarth Move to HS Proposal Member input is requested regarding a proposal to move the Fiat 500 Abarth from GS to HS. Shows that it is in GS. Haven't heard if it got moved to HS. So who says it is not allowed?

It was only "not allowed" as long as Jadrice owned one, lol.

Regarding passenger rules: Everybody please note that passengers are not allowed to hold cell phones and/or hand held cameras - and your passenger must keep their hands, arms, head and all other body parts inside the car at all times.
Of lesser importance: I will be autocrossing a Red Abarth in GS (it hasn't been moved to HS yet, as far as I can tell) this year and planning on making every event currently scheduled - but I am NOT "redabarth" on this forum.
Welcome aboard "redabarth", whoever you are.
Cheers, Jack Mc SSS

You are welcome to drive it any time Cindy! And it will be even faster this year since we've finally been able to take the restrictor off for JA.

Will we be able to run "time only" as a solution to sub 200TW tires. The other solution for me is SSR - just need to know what numbers to buy.
