Steve, you're one person in a class (STS/STC) that can and often does total double digits … I'm probably not going to try to find and contact each and everyone to get their approval to run illegal tires just because I waited too long to pull the trigger on some Hankooks (even though those aren't the ones I want)
since the Feb event was the only one I was going to be able to run until April, I probably will just skip out until then

My take in it is rules are rules . If these rules are gonna be flexed then let it be known , I will need to revise my season upgrade list .

My RS3's from two years ago are still on the car and they say 200 UTOG, never been 140. Far as I know only Toyo pulled that number. We've known about this for two years and one of the STS guys just bought a new set of RS3s before the last event. Sorry, but I think you need to observe the rules.
Now...if you come and can't play, I'll put you in my car or loan you a set of wheels and tires (spares have Donlops). Competion we like.

Thanks for your feedback. We're not going to flex on the rules.
If someone runs an illegal car or tire, I am not going out of my way to disallow them to compete. That is the duty of the class participants, but if they do protest the illegality, I have no choice but to uphold it.

thanks for making it clear Mike … my other region is keeping 140 TW for their STM class … I wasn't complaining or campaigning for waiver … just checking if that same thing had been passed by the CCR autocross chair, and I had missed it and LilBugger47STS … RS-3's changed from whatever their TW rating was to 200 as soon as the decision came from the SCCA (long before the ruling was implemented) … their explanation was that the tires had originally tested out as >200 TW, but that they had branded their tires 140 or 180 (don't remember which) for marketing purposes … the V2 has actually been changed from that previous tire ( www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=Ventus+R-S3) this gives the info on the TW change it's still not known for sure if the Toyo will be re-badged or whether the compound/construction will have been changed/tweaked and I wasn't asking for or advocating running illegally … just asking for info (see first sentence) … and explaining (if anyone cared) why I wouldn't be there Feb28 … conflicts with other events will keep me away until the April event after that |

Here is the finished 2015 CCR Autocross Schedule. May 30th / 31st - Novice & Intermediate Driving School @ Metrolina Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place to post. I'm new to Charlotte and autox. I'd like to take this class but this is the only place I can find any information on it. Where can I get details for times, registration, costs, etc for this event? |

That is the North Carolina Autocross Championship, no its not a points event for our region and it's not on our schedule , yes basically because we aren't hosting it Tarheel was and we wanted to wait till we had more info before posting |
