Probably won't be on until the July event. The RT-615s have enough tread for at least one event... maybe July too. I'll have to put the new ones on before the Miata gathering at Deal's Gap the end of July.

Sorry to tell ya Laguny, Charlotte is a northern city, almost. Except the rivers there do not burst into flames. James <sigh> As a Charlotte native, with North Carolina blood back to the 1750's, it pains me to say it's true.
I lived in Illinois for three years near St. Louis. I never saw the Mississippi on fire, but I guess all those "burn-off" pipes (whatever those things are called) at those refineries took care of that. ;D

Kannapolis...one of my favorites...close It's the 2nd closest for me, of our recently used sites. NTI is a bit further, and even that's not a "haul" to me. Dixie Classic Fairgrounds, Maggie Valley (Ghost Town), and the State Farm lot (Boone) are all considerably farther (we're talking from the Charlotte GMA, of course).....solitude of Towel City. It has the exact same advantage as Knight's, of being on it's own little road, invisible from the main two lane road, let alone any highway. Thus, almost zero unwanted attention, i.e. from "ricers" or any other sort of street racer types, that would just get us in trouble. Hmm, it may be smaller than Knight's, but it's definitely bigger than Maggie Valley and perhaps State Farm lot. It's not saddled with State Farm's narrower, elongated shape, at least. I almost wonder if it's bigger than NTI as well; islands must be dealt with at NTI, right?
I know you big power folks like to have large, road course radii turns , but if you can just put up with turning the steering wheel more than a few degrees ;D , there can be surprisingly long[/b] courses at Intimidators (course designers, are you reading? ;D ).[/color] Slick surface - deadly if it rains! It is smoother than Knight's; there aren't chunks of it coming up like Knight's as I recall. It was slick a couple years ago because they put that blacktop coating on it, but I wonder if it may be scuffed up, and not as bad now. An upside: it'll be easier on your tires than Knight's "cheese grater" as I like to call it. <shrug>

Intimidators is small You guys are spoiled!!!! That place has more smooth unobstructed surface area than anything Highlands has access to! I can't wait to try it out.

Shane, I agree with you - but then I get reminded by JB how BIG the SCR lots are that he likes to play on.....Intimidators makes a fine AX lot and doesn't have concrete thingies to hit. Surface is easier on tires than Knights - better than Maggie, too. Clint makes some good observations on the positive side of Intimidators.
Definitely one of my favorites.

I really enjoyed Intimidators back when I ran it in the '92. I look forward to trying it with the '99 for the first time. Should be a real hoot...
