So we are heading to Savanah to finally race the Fiesta. Decided to stop in Columbia for a drink. While pulling into a gas station, in a pouring rain, BANG!!!. A Chevy rear ends us. Rear, you know, WHERE THE TRAILER IS. Van damaged, hitch bent, tie downs broken, persons and race car OK. Stayed until 1:30am filling out reports. unsure of damage to van, the crew and I decide to limp back to Charlotte.
So here I sit at the 'puter bummed out of my mind. I think Fortune dosen't want me to race this year. Well, VIR is only a month away.

Sorry to hear Russ... at least you were only an hour from Charlotte.
Hmm... Was it the Overtons who were flat towing a car to a race and got passed by the race car?

Oh man, that really stinks.
Russ, think of it as "paying your dues" . . early ..
Next year you'll be the Unbeatable Champ.

Dawg-gone...I was looking forward to hearing about how the might Fiesta whupped up on all that expensive Your-a-pee'in machinery...
Russ - hope the van and trailer have a speed recovery.
Your partner in rust (German quality rust, of course)
