Hi all, I have a question, I would like to get some R-Compound tires on a pretty heavy (about 4300 lbs) so that I can try to get a bit more traction. I was curious what tires would be good for a pretty heavy autocross vehicle? It's got to fit on a 16X7 rim, so I am thinking about a 245 45 16 or 255 50 16. I know the driver needs more work, but I would like to get the vehicle a little more competitive.
Thanks for your input!

I heartily recommend the Kumho Victoracer V710- if you're really gonna goto R comp then go for this one.

Just remember that if you go to an non-DOT tire you're out of stock class!

As a Hoosier A3SO5-equipped driver, I say get the V710s!! I'm currently running Goodyear Race Slicks which I bought because I can pretty much spin anything out there down the track....problem is that they may actually be TOO STICKY. What I mean by that is that they pick up everything and I mean everything. Really made for professionally prep'd tracks with no debri at all....so I really cannot recommend these tires. I know that the fastest Corvettes that Auto-X mostly use the V710 which are fantastic tires....the new Hoosier 06 are coming out soon and are supposed to be comparable though.

Oh no....Michael is gonna have a fast truck!!! Good to see you on the forums FF. Nice job out there with the truck - now all you need is LSD for the rig. And a trailer and boat to tow behind it....
