Thanks for the almost offers, at least someone replied. Oh well, I guess I'll make my wife help me bench press a transmission back in place while simulateously tipping the engine into alignment and threading 2 bolts at once..........

Floor jack son!...Floor jack....and you can get the tranny adapter for it from Northern Tools or Harbor Freight. I would loan you mine, but it is busy at the moment with a 4WD tranny out of a GMC Jimmy that is almost ready to come out of the truck - that is my weekend project.
Currently, I have a volunteer to open and pass me beer (while drinking some himself), a son who will offer helpful advice after something goes wrong, and a wife who will let me know that it is 1am and time to quit.
Should be good to go...............................Must be the weekend for transmissions.

Well, since I'm sure it will take you 3 experts less than an hour to do a complete transmission removal, rebuild, and reinstall, feel free to come by Mooresville when you're done!

Hmm. nope...slow in my old age. Couple hours to pull a 4x4 tranny (dang transfer case) - takes me a full weekend to rebuild a 700R4 auto, and annudder couple hours (if it all lines up) to put it back in. I'm hoping this is just a torque converter problem.

For the record, I am never doing another clutch job.
Also for the record, DamnYankee Ken saved my sorry behind with his strong manly arms and vast library of mechanicking knowledge, and I owe him MORE than a beer.

LOL...the CLUTCH replacement was the EASY part!! I'm glad I could dispense some of the cobwebs in my head and get you to understand that is is NOT a good thing to have your wife bench pressing a transmission while you are "reading" the manual!!!! "Reading" is best done in your "library", just before you flush!!! ;D

My library seems to have a variable resource file.....I think the wife keeps tossing the GRMs and SC mags as they "mature".
