If you're attending the school, here are some notes.
Your car should be in good running order and able to pass tech inspection. Your battery MUST be securely tied down. If your battery is loose you cannot participate. All lug nuts MUST be present and tight. You'll need to clean out your car of EVERYTHING, including the driver side floor mat. If "liquid sunshine" is predicted, a tarp to put around your stuff is a good idea.
Bring sunscreen, hat, umbrella, poncho, rain jacket, tarp. All are weather dependent.
Drinks. We'll have water available. If you want something else you'll need to bring it.
Chair. You'll want to get off your feat when you can.
Close toed shoes. Flip-flops are not acceptable for driving. Good fitting sneakers or driving shoes are best. Work boots, cowboy boots, combat boots, high heels generally don't work well.
Helmet. If you have a helmet that is SNELL 2000 rated or newer, bring it. A helmet without a rating (like you get from Wal-Mart) or one with a DOT rating is NOT acceptable.

Ok notes on the notes. Drinks, no alcohol please. Not permitted until after an event anyway and preferably off site. Shoes ... Closed shoes only please. Open toed shoes are not permitted when it comes to course work at all. Preferably something comfortable that you can stand in for periods of time and easy to run in. No this isn't boot camp, but a light jog may be necessary from time to time.
Well I guess I ruined my question though. I'm in a new car and totally different animal than I'm used to. Can I be a Novice again? hehe

I was told that TWO classes are being held , one on Saturday morning and another class on Sunday - is it correct that both these classes are the same type of class ? I've done drag racing only so its important to me to get start in auto X the correct way but I'm not 100% sure I can make the class on Saturday .
Thanks for any help .

We don't allow the use of that nasty 4 letter word that starts with a "R" around here!! ;D
Students should get a lot of runs on Saturday, hopefully it'll be a good day.

I sure hope to be out there this will be NEW to me so I hope to get my learn on . Also what if you only have one seat in your car ?

Not sure about only one seat!! I guess we can get a milk crate... :-) Instructors will have to watch very closely and point things out from the outside... unless someone has a similar car and is willing to let you co-drive with them.

Since we are going to have a roving tech, could we have all students leave the car unlocked, hood and trunk open after clean out. Once the car is teched the hood and trunk will be closed and a yellow dot will be on the windshield. If there is an issue your car will be left open... Find me if this happens.

I'll have the registrar note this to all students. I'll be sure that it is mentioned first thing in the class room, or when I get to the tech section and remember it lol.

Phil and or Rich, I think it would be much easier on my end if I didn't have to repeat that every time. I don't have a printer or I would do it. If you would print a page or two that has all the things you need them to do for tech on there and I can prop it up behind the computer facing them so they can see it or direct them to it to read it. It would take up less time, then me having to repeat that to all 30+ entrants that we have. A relatively large font would be great! Just an idea to keep things flowing.

I'm hoping the situation changes, but I might be forced to WORK on Saturday. Big project in the end stages=crunch time.
I really need Novice School.. Z3elda was screaming her tires at me all day at Zmax and she's going to be ticked if I don't learn to autocross better.. :-(

Tell them that you'll more than likely be "sick" because of the coming threat of rain.

I'll e-mail those that have registered on MAE about tech and leaving things open.
Phil - do you want everything out of the cars?

Powerpoint is coming along nicely. Almost done with it. Should be nice short and sweet like we want. Plenty of basic information about AutoCross.
