Found this on eBay and it's too good not to post it here. At the base of the hinge-there is a 500 pound Warner electric actuator which opens, closes and locks the hood in place. You can control the opening of the hood via a two way door switch which is hidden inside the console. It takes about 5 seconds for the hood to slowly swing up and open to gain access to the engine bay. I cannot believe all the attention this draws when checking the oil, adding wiper fluid ect. at the gas station.So how many of you Miata owners are going to submit a bid??? ;D |

Wow! That's not as bad as the "Pimp My Ride" Ford Escort with e36 M3 body panels. But it's still bad.

Why do people do stupid things like this? Having read much of the ad I would give him $800 for the hard-top he claims to have if it is in-fact the real deal and he can keep the rest. It's obvious they didn't paint the car as a whole. 500 pound Warner electric actuator up front? That's gotta make it handle better. And, only God knows how it's wired.
On a styling level it's ghastly!! It's a Franken-zilla monster. Put down the purple vinyl and back away slowly! Whereas the Miata is lithe a la Lotus Elan/Elise, the Z is more brutish(in a good way) like the fabulous 507. Both use the "coke bottle" bodystyle to good effect but in drastically different ways, Miata flowingly while the Z is more angular but manages to avoid dating itself. The two just don't mix.
This thing is a crime against automobilia...

Did Triad this last weekend. Four Loti Elise and a whole fleet of sevens...what fun! Ye old fiesta held its own, even wid two flattened header pipes from NTI. Gotta get those fixed.
