This thread is dedicated to the person or persons who, in the past few years, have taken off-course excursions at our autocross events. I propose an award for SPORT*, which stands for... wait for it... wait for it... Society for the Prevention OF Radical Trajectories! ;D ;D ;D ;D ( Pdawg dives under sofa)

Silver gray.... are you talking about John's car or John's hair? ;D They say we should not call prisoners "inmates"...but the PC term is "Geographically Challenged" and John Byrd is not "short", he he is " Vertically Challenged". So for these people you describe... why not "Brotherhood of Creative Course Reading"? BTW Thanks for the job you did keeping us safe today PDawg. Appreciate your energy and efforts as Safety Steward.

Guess I belong to the "brotherhood". Many years ago I took down a guardrail @ a go-kart track. Thought i would never live that one down. But luckily it was a yellow car. so it does not count. James

well I know my son Brian was driving one of the silver cars that went way too deep into the turn at the end of the 'straight' after the cross over ... he was shaking when I checked on him in the grid area ... he said he had planned to take it deep and he surley found the limit on that one occasion ... glad to be able to laugh about it

Guess that "rapid transition to oversteer" at NTI last year doesn't count either, since my Corvette is red. ;D But, we were all safe - just like we planned.

Thanks to all, 'specially PDawg for keeping us safe. It is nice when we can have a little chuckle about the occasional off course excursion - we get used to the idea that these events are safe, but it is only because the staff and members are diligent about following rules for course design, safety training, and conducting the events. TireBuyer (Sheryl) and I were discussing it on the way home last night how all it would take is one serious mishap to ruin our fun.
So - for those of you (esp our new novices) reading this "fun" thread, please remember that we all need to be observant, be safe, watch out for each other - in addition to having fun.
AND - we really need folks to stay off the "grassy knolls" at the edge of the course!
Thanks again to all who came out and had fun - what a blast!
Now - Please return to our regularly scheduled program already in progress:
