Interested making $150.00 for yourself and $100 for your Region? All it takes is a one-days effort of riding around in Mercury. CCR/SCCA has been engaged to provide right-seat instructors for a consumer-based street drive of Mercury products; namely, Milan, Mountaineer, Montego, Mariner, Mariner Hybird. The program is scheduled for the new Northlake Mall on June 3, 2006.
Ride around all day in a new car and get a free lunch, while getting paid... Sweet. It's half a seaons entry fee.
Check out the links from the home page.

Lefty..if you wuz signed in, I'd give ya an exalt fer that one.....what beer goes with a Merceree??? Coors....tasteless and bland, Budweiser...watery and thin, Miller Lite....the beer with mass produced bubbles? Hmm....somehow a Guinness would be a little too high quality for a Mercuree

Lefty..if you wuz signed in, I'd give ya an exalt fer that one..... I certainly appreciate the thought. I was on a public terminal in a bar and didn't want to leave my login credentials that accessible. ;D what beer goes with a Merceree??? Coors....tasteless and bland, Budweiser...watery and thin, Miller Lite....the beer with mass produced bubbles? Hmm....somehow a Guinness would be a little too high quality for a Mercuree OK, let's go back to the premise of this question. It's got nothing to do with what goes with a Merceree. What it's got to do with is me instructing. Which means, something good. Like Pilsner Urquell, Budvar, something like that. None of that French or Belgian crap. Gimme German or Czech. Or hell, Polish or something. But Germany or east. The driver will be way too busy to hold on to a beer, or I'm gonna be exit stage left.

Dropped an exalt on ya Lefty!... I hear ya on the beer issue. I happen to favor the Irish/British styles a bit more (Irish background ya might say), but am in full agreement about not wanting any of that fruity tasting Belgian/French crap. If I wanted froot joose...I would order froot joos...and what is with the dang orange they put in a Blue Moon....is it that tasteless? I do like German beers and some of the Holland stuff. Good Irish Stouts are my favorites.
But Old Mil does seem to be the rough beer equivalent to a Mercury...

The Mercury Brewing Company makes this stuff: Doesn't peg me as beer that goes with the car though. Maybe something that says: "I'm old, been around too long, and need to be put out of my misery" like...... Icehouse!

Does anyone know WTF we'll be doing in these Mercury "vehicles"? How about anything about who we'll be riding shotgun with? How long is the event supposed to take? Is this going to be a "Sunday ride", an auto-x, or what? I'm signed-up, but I'd certainly appreciate more details before I put my life in the hands of a blue-haired, PBR-drinking, Mercuree-driving grandmother who thinks she can get from Northlake Mall to the airport and back before anyone else!! I'm thinking it's like Chrysler's Test Drive event. At that a course was set up and you drive at low speed. There's a rough section to feel the suspension, an acceleration section, a braking section and some turns. Guess it'll be like that...

So, how is "Murcuree" justifying paying the region $3000 for the event? I'm still "in" and want to help, but I'd like to know some details. What liability am I and the region accepting? Again, what is it that we're going to be doing? How long is the day? Is the event going to be limited to NorthLake Mall, or is this going to be an all-day, cross-country event? If anyone knows, I'd appreciate what info can be given. Scott Franklin www.NutDriver.org

NDR...Dick McCollister is the link on all of this. At the social we discussed it and as I understand it this will be a slow controlled event at the mall only. Probably an acceleration area, turning, braking, etc. but all very controlled. Remember - we don't want to spill OUR beer!!!!
Yes, it is all day and intended to provide test drives to folks interested in Merkeree products. Apparently their marketing folks contacted SCCA regarding folks who could come help. I am sure they can afford 3G even if they only sell one car from the deal. The point is that the club gets some much needed bucks. As I understand it, they have done this before and have all the waivers, etc. What they wanted were some performance oriented instructor/drivers to help out. Again, Dick has all the details and was the point man on this idea.
I think we only have 9 folks so far, so hopefully a couple of extras will sign up for the day.
Hee hee..would be fun to run our AX cars just to check out the course..

So Shane, you gonna trailer the Fiesta out? They are both Ford products, so that should work.... "This is what the car looks and drives like today, and this could be what it looks and drives like in 20 years". You might be able to take some people out for joy rides and get some good use out of the second seat ;D
