When you Exalt someone, it is like you are giving them a "high five", if you Smite someone, it is as though you are kicking them in the butt!!

Thanks DY! I appreciate the support. I have my eye on a new lens that will be very helpful for this type of photography. Perhaps I'll have it before the next event.

Josh the pictures looked great especially considering that it was your first motorsports event. P.S. I was looking through the pictures that a guy up here in NJ shoots at events, I figured you could use it to get some ideas for yourself for the next event. Link: www.plaftaphoto.com/gallery/albums.phpA few pics for example: One of my favorites and current background.

Those are really nice. I particularly like the plate "No Fat Chicks"! Probably would throw off his weight distribution...
Having one event under my belt, I feel like I have more of an idea of what is needed. it was a lot of fun, and by the end of the day, my pan shots were pretty good. The beginning of the day were so so. Thansk for the link.

I love the 911 pulling a tire off the ground!! Classic!! From my memories of shooting road races, panning seems to be easier if you have some distance between you and the car. At an AX you're pretty close, at least compared to a road race. I imagine that makes it more challenging.

At an AX you're pretty close, at least compared to a road race. I imagine that makes it more challenging. That would make sense Rich, because the closer you are to the moving car, the less time you actually have where the "film" plane is parallel to the plane of the cars movement. A longer pan shot up-close would result in a blurrier subject, i.e the car, because you eventually be exposing the backend of the car during the exposure. I would ultimately liek to be very lwo to the gorund for the curve pics, or very high up, in a stand or on a ladder, to remove the distracign backgrounds. Joshua
