I haven't made an official post of this until now.
The Van is Dead.
The time for rejoicing is over.
June 11 is the next event and as far as I know there is no back-up plan to get all the "stuff" there. I've looked around a bit for a replacement and I've found 2 vehicles that are seemingly over budget but, I'm sure the board would appreciate any input as to leads on a replacement. We need at least a 350/3500 level truck/van to handle the load.
We have less than 3 weeks before the event. There is also a bit of a holiday in there and that doesn't include time to put all the stuff that's now in my house into said replacement vehicle.
Tempest fuget.
Carpe diem.
Thoughts?

What's the budget? Is it so bad a of a vehicle that it's not worth a motor? Maybe beg, borrow, steal something for the june gig and have a motor put in it in the mean time. If not, check out the iwanna.com they have a Charlotte site and it's all private sales, with a few dealers thrown in. Greg

The van is pretty old and beat. It really needs more than just an engine. I'm sure Mark knows what it really needs.
Maybe Ken can find a nice repo for us...

oh no... for what its worth i,ll contact a few friends who are into buying /fixxing and reselling low priced cars. if by chance theres a low priced reliable van available i,ll toss you guys a line. not a good chance but these guys go through 4-5cars a month or so so ya never know... currently using a daily driver caddy i bought from them and had no isues beyond what i was informed of prior to purchase.  |

The van I have ia a dodge ram ...but only a 250...I think it needs a fuel pump .Im not getting fuel to the engine ..but if i pour fuel in it it will start right up...its in good shape on the body..if you need it for maybe a backup van for the club ...its yours ..come and get it .I just havent had the time to work on it..its a custom van with alot of windows..the 2 chairs in the center are already gone and the back seat ..bed ..comes out if itdoes just need a pump ..not bad$$$.like I say the club can have it.I was going to fix it up for local races and the 24hr autocross to chill in ;D let me know guys what ever ya want to do

In case you are interested, if someone has a trailer we can borrow (or we could rent a U-Haul 6X12 trailer) I can tow it to and from the event with the Frontier. Feel free to let me know if you are interested.

The Executive Committee will meet on tuesday and may make a decision. That's as much as I know. We'll have to rent something for next weekend if we can't get a vehicle before then.
