Fascinating thread for me. Why?
Well, as R.E I get all the questions about why slow response on the web, etcetera.
A little bit of history is that the first CCR website was obtained and financed by me. I constructed the very first basic one. Then Kevin Hoff made it usable! The BoD at that time didn't see the reason to have one (I wasn't on board then, I was teh Solo Chair...). After CCRSOLO2.ORG became established, the board decided it was a good idea and we got the CCRSCCA.ORG address. I think after about two years I didn't have to pay for the domain.
So our website has a history of being maintained by the Solo community. Steve maintained it for a looooong time. Then we could not find anyone to take over when it became onerous for him. Coy stepped in and, working with Dick McC and with input from Steve, got it to the stage it is now.
I'm pleased that there is now interest from several members in taking over various parts of maintaining it. As we all know, web usage has become integral with everyday life.
I would note that club racers in general have been 'slower' (used advisedly) than the Solo crowd in adopting websites, online registration, etcetera.
I think we need to get the interested parties together and make sure all are working uniformily.
The AGM and Banquet will be in Asheville in early January. I think that prior to the banquet that day would be a great time and a central location for that get-together to occur. It will have us ready for the 2007 season.
Sincerely, Martin.

Unfortunately, I will not be attending the banquet.

We know the key players trying to volunteer to fill these gaps in the system. Isn't there anyway to get them together and hash out these issues before January. With the talents of the people volunteering, they could have this site turned around in a matter of days. Just a thought...

With the talents of the people volunteering, they could have this site turned around in a matter of days. Just a thought... January will be here before we know it. I will be at the meeting and I am sure that Steven will be there. It is better to wait and get it going right than to hurry it thru. The main point is to have it up and running for the start of next season. If you can't go to the meeting in Jan, talk to one of us and give your suggestions. I also believe that the website needs to be improved on and plan on making it a main issue. Dave

Not attending the banquet!...uh-oh, you've heard about my speeches... Oh - I don't know - I rather enjoyed the discussion of the two Jag saloon cars tied together with a 3/4-inch rope going down the wrong side of the street. Reminded me of when my brother towed his TR-3 with my Healey - using a similar piece of rope!
