Currently, there is no link to the upcoming Kannapolis event on the front page of our website.
As I write this, there are only 48 entries for the event with less than a week to go. Usually a week before registration closes, we are approaching a hundred or so entries.
Is this a coincidence?
Is there anything we can do to get some Solo program presence in the operation of this site.
It seems we are always asked to be voluteers. Are there any volunteers out there whom would be willing to serve our club in a capacity which would somehow give our Solo Program a hand in the operation of this site?
I have some limited knowledge of internet operations (html, etc.), and would be glad to voluteer, but I'm sure there are others with more knowledge than me.
We are constantly being asked to step forward to voluteer, but when we do, it seems like no one is usually listening.
What say you? Anyone?

I think that the front page issue is related to the fact that we have one webmaster. I'm sure that our webmaster is a voluteer and has a regular job. Who knows what else is going on with Coy besides work. There could be other circumstances (illness, travel, etc) that have kept the site from getting updated. I haven't gotten a reponse from him to the e-mail I sent about getting the entry updated on the front page.
CCR needs to have someone else that can update the site.
Like JB, I have some knowledge of HTML. It's been a while since I've written code, but I'm sure we can do something to make updating it easier.

I agree with you guys and also volunteer my limited capabilities. We definitely need someone more responsive, if I were responsible for website updates I can assure you my turn around would be hours, not days. I don't doubt our current webmaster is busy, I think we need to entertain some additional assistance though.

Guys, spread out on some other boards and post a link to registration. Our events were getting big because two people were out there posting them on every car board we could find. Remember the little ads we were posting a while back? Someone have photoshop? Make an ad, put it on a car website.
I used to maintain the website, and yes things got up there a bit faster sometimes, but it was becuase i didn't need to email or ask anyone about it, I just did it. Part of the delays in solo things being posted on this site has been due to my delay in getting the info to the new webmaster.

I had a death in the family and have been out of town... I would suggest that we create a MyAutoEvents registration for all events say now... and I will up date -- no reason to want till 2 weeks before the event...

Sorry for your loss, and I agree with you on setting the events up earlier. Then opening the entry list periodically leading up to the event.

Here it is....Sept 18th, and the result from July STILL are NOT posted. A member has to calculate the season points in a thread!!! (Thanks Steve). A number of folks have offered to do it!!! Our own members have quit going to the home page, because the is NO NEW information there. :(Sorry....I'm venting!! But it needs to be said!!! Agreed! See sept. social meeting thread. Something needs to be done. We have had several volunteers step foreward with no results. I have suggested a token of appreciation for Continental Tire. NO response> is anyone running this train? If anyone else cares, show up for the social. James

The social is just that, a social. It's a great opportunity to vent to each other, but if we don't get any of the BoD's to attend and take our concerns to the rest of the board, we may as well be speaking to the wall.
It was great to have Martin and Dick attend the July social, but I don't think this issue was discussed. But they were trying to get us to volunteer at the club racing events!!!

Perhaps it is a place to put Machivellian intrigue into motion. Plans must start somewhere. or do we all want to defect to an auto -x club? Triad has been good to me. We have votes in th Secret Car Club of America. Let us use the social to decide how to use them. Before I decide once again to belong to TRIAD. S.C.C. A.'s attitude is the reason i do not have a 50 year membership. Every several years they P**** me off. and I go elsewhere. So enuf expectant canining from me. Basic question : does the club care enuff to keep me or would they rather find a new member? They have not done well on this in the past. James

SR - I for one want ya to stay...we are a good group of folks in the AX community and we shouldn't let the issue of the website screw that up. Don't want to lose good members!
Sadly, I am not on the board and have no more voice than anyone else...but JB is supposed to be working on getting something started on providing input to the site from our Solo group. I think JB, Meself, LagunaM, and Steve are going to be working on this. A letter went to the board, but I don't believe there is a response yet. Will let ya know!

FYI - we were asked to form a solo website committee. This committee was submitted to the BoD.
The fact they asked for a committee is a good sign that the BoD is concerned about the Solo Community.
I hope, and I am looking forward to the fact that this issue will be addressed soon.
The committee consists of Rich Little, Steve Shin, Shane Findlan and me. We will elect a chairman at the Board's recognition, and of course, all of your inputs will always be welcome.
In fact, I'm really just on it for formation purposes, and probably next year we would want to possibly add more members to the committee.

Solo, hold off on your defection until we hear something more. I'm sure that things will get worked out with the members that are on the committee to improve the solo input.
I hope that the committee will be heard by the BoD.
