First, thanks for posting the update, and another thanks for a great points event at Kannapolis today. a special - ultra - top-secret scoring system! I hope this takes into account the "true" time of us guys who run in the Tire class. The PAX results of a typical autox don't take into account that we run on street tires, for example, someone running in open GS on R-compounds is PAX'd the same way as my car in GS Tire.

The answer I have heard is yes, members only. On sunday. James Dang, guess that cuts my weekend short. There just aren't many benefits to the SCCA membership (for those of us that don't do national or regional events). Is there even time to apply for membership, pay, and receive our numbers before next weekend?

Is there even time to apply for membership, pay, and receive our numbers before next weekend? You can get your membership at the event next weekend. Benefits include $5 off every event, subscription to Sports Car magazine, and knowing that you are supporting the club. There are a lot of members (including me) that only attend local events.

You know, I haveta agree with this post wholeheartedly. I'm considering dropping outta CStock and running STS2 cos I'm tired of the tier changing ritual. I will not run on Hoosiers at Lowe's in consequence of this, but my Falken M+S tires are almost new...

Some regions run a STX-2 class... Basically STX but for 2 seat cars... We could start one of them and you can run there!
Just substitute the first line with: Sports Cars w/ 2 seats
Coupes/Sedans - 4 seats minimum (non-sports car based) Engine Displacement - up to 5.1L normally aspirated or - up to 2.0L forced induction (single turbo/supercharger).
I think the FI has to be factory FI, so the Miatas with turbos ain't legal... still have to play in SM2. Also engine swaps ain't cool, so the SM2 CRX from yesterday would have to stay in SM2... for instance.

Found your answer... www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/NC/Lowes.htmlLowe's Motor Speedway is a 1.5 mile oval with a 2.25 mile infield road course, a 6/10ths mile kart track, a 1/4 mile asphalt oval in the infield, a 1/5 mile oval outside of turn 3, and 4/10 mile clay oval across the highway from the main track.
