Edit: Details for Saturday & Sunday below!
Central Carolinas Region SCCA takes autocross to Lowes Motor Speedway!
That's right, fasten up your helmets, bolt on the r-tires, we're ready to race!
Event details:
Saturday is a standard non-points event with 150 car maximum. There are a few special instructions below, please follow them!
Here is the registration page for the Saturday event (Prices & Times are the same as most CCR-SCCA autocrosses): www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.Show?psevent_id=5649&psrnd=.3401567187108096755387526319957769954
PLEASE, EVERYONE, GO POST THIS ON 11TYBILLION OTHER CAR SITES NOW! LET'S FILL THIS THING UP!
Sunday is still in the wings, so to say. I will post details as they finalize, hopefully no later than this Friday.
Sunday will be a special event, there will be prizes, and all of you may even get to take a test drive in a Performance Turbo Subaru!
Those things being said, here's the rules/regs, follow them or I will have you whacked!
All drivers will use the rear entrance to the track. If you're not sure how to get there on the main roads, take the main entrance to the track and drive (slowly) around the outer road that runs around the track. You will find the gate with the guard that will allow you to pass under the track and in to the infield.
We will be doing registration for the Saturday event outside the gate area. It will *likely* be setup in the gravel lot just opposite the rear entrance. Once again, if you drive around the outer road at the track, you will find registration.
All Autocrossers trailering their cars will need to park, at minimum, your trailer in the gravel lot we will be doing registration in. All the areas near there are private track property, so you can drive a non-street licensed car around.
As you come under the track and into the infield, the autocross course will be on the right below the banking of NASCAR turns 3&4. The autocross paddock will be in the areas straight ahead, around the fence that borders the go-kart track & the concessions stand.
We will have maps and all rules and requirements on hand at registration, so there can be no "I didn't know I wasn't supposed to xyz whatever" about anything. We must make a good showing at this event!
Sunday
Sunday will be a special event for SCCA members only!
Sunday morning from 9am-12noon we will be having 'performance test drives' available in a couple of nice new Subaru models! We also encourage participants to take the time to walk around and check out all the road race cars that will be on site!
At 10:30am we will open registration for the Sunday afternoon SCCA Members Only Autocross! Registration for Sunday will be a massive $5! (Saturday is still a full price event) We will have some special prizes & give-aways, with a special - ultra - top-secret scoring system!
There will be a 100 car limit for Sunday afternoon - Pre-registration is open here: www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.Show?psevent_id=5660&psrnd=.80757385056307331681590178919054437189
This event is a thanks to all of our SCCA Members! Not a member? Log onto www.scca.org and join today! Be sure to tell them you want to be a member of Central Carolinas Region (061)!
That's it for now, more updates about the event will be posted in this thread. Please direct anyone with questions to this thread. When posting on other boards, please link to this thread, not just the myautoevents page.
