Wow! I hate this. Belle Chere is maybe the best autocross venue of the year, and I have previous commitments. Remember wonderful weekends with my friend, the late, great Mark Jones. For anyone planning on going, do not miss this one. Stay overnite and enjoy sunday.

Could someone describe the typical course layout at Bele Chere? Average speeds, curbs, etc?

The layout is typically offsets and slaloms on the way down, a turnaround, and offsets and slaloms on the way back. Speeds are probably quicker than you would think. Curbs line both sides of the road, which is one reason we don't allow Novices with less than 3 verifiable autox events. Anybody live in the area and have any floor space to spare for a MINI driver? We and our cars take up very little space.

We're in Simpsonville on Columbia side of Greenville just off 85... if you don't get any offers closer to Asheville. I'll be driving Elvira up saturday morning. If you get a better offer with sharing an apartment with Swedish Lady Volleyball team, and it's in Hendersonville area, I'd go that route. ;D (Sorry Per Olaf, I'm only trying to teach those girls a lesson! Never trust a single guy in a Mini....just because a guy drives a car that was designed by Planned Parenthood of England it doesn't mean he's not looking for trouble!)
