Im only doing the 12 hr run and have to do 2 hours but i wanna get it out of the way.... ps, how will groups be set up etc? There are no run groups, just one big line of cars. The worker steward will have a master schedule book with work assignments. So there's a chance that you may not get the slot you want if someone else already signs up for it. Working the first two hours is a popular slot so you're going to have to find the worker steward quickly. AND another Q. Will there be a special 2 driver line ?? If not how will the 2 driver cars get an equall number of runs ?? The last time I ran up at Winston they had a separate line for two driver cars, you just have to remind the grid coordinator to make sure you get through faster.

Last year when you registered you signed up for your worker position and time. Don't know if we'll do the same thing this year or not. If so, get to registration early and you're set.

Okey Dokey folks ...as the worker steward spokesmodel here is what I can tell you. First, we hope the "repetitive positions" get filled up well beforehand via this forum - that includes deputy safety stewards, tech, registration , timing, and the others you see listed. Next, we have to find out how many work stations we will have for the cornerworkers, then we fill out the other required positions which includes: Starter (usually 2), Grid (usually 2-3), Helmets (1 normally), and depending on course layout we may also need some crowd control staff, crossover (if we have one), etc.
The grid workers are given specific instructions on lining up the 2 driver cars separately and to run them so they get in a equivalent number of runs with the others. This worked really well at Dixie last year and usually after midnite it isn't an issue as the groups get thin.
It can be a bit crazy at the 24 hour event . We really have to work hard to get folks to volunteer in the 2-8am time slots!
It really helps if folks show up on time for their work assignments - then we don't have to hunt you down in the parking lot!!
Remember - you will work a 2 hour session for each 12 hours of competition.

Kewl! Annudder Furd Driver - We'll see ya there. Get up wid me on work assignments and we can set you up. Will do. Oh, so it's 2 hours of working for each 12 hour period? Sounds good. I also had a question about temporary memberships. I have heard that they are available from the different regions and are good for up to 6 months. Since I am planning on doing the BMW SCR autox, this would be a worthwhile investment. Anyone have any details? I emailed Steven Rankins but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Should I try again or wait until registration?

Mr. LagunaMiata keeps track of volunteers. Also, when you register - just put that in the work position note as a reminder to me. Thanks!
