I'm 23 and I've had to sync carbs and set points. Too broke for a Unisyn, my dad taught me with a piece of hose. And I've set up Megasquirt on two of my cars. They're both an equal pain in the ass as far as I can tell. ;D Got any pics of that roadster??? Love to see THAT !!! No wish i did. Talk about double takes. People would walk past at a show and think it was a 6. Then walk back past and see 6 more pipes. WIDE EYES!!!!! Did you ever show that T at the auto fair at CMS? I remember seeing a lambo powered T-bucket there when I was a kid. And thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Probably around mid-90s.

I learned to synch SU's from an old British Leyland head mechanic... pretty cool guy. They were actually Hitachi SU's on a 510, but same thing really.

Belonged to a friend of mine, just helped build it. Wish I had gotten pics. Checked the dash of my truck, we were there in '94 (Auto fair). So if it was the black one w/ indy car rain tires on Joengbloeds (rear), was probably it. Had motorcycle wheels in front. Dinnent want it confused wit any odder Lambo T-buckets W/ chrome Jag rear end. James

Glad to see so many people with experience messing with points and SU's/Hitachis. I have not messed with my carbs yet because a mechanic once told me that "carburetor" was French for "Dont Touch This!". Basically saying that the carbs should be the last things to adjust when doing a tune up, but most people tinker with them first.

Egg Zacketly. I believe that is a correct interpretation of the word. The Weber on my Fiesta is running a bit lean on middle two cylinders - but not sure how to adjust that without messing up the outer two. Since it makes power and seems to trudge along OK, I am leaving it alone.
Yep - lot of experience on this forum and if we ever got around to it we could have some great technical discussions on this stuff.

All at once, say: 1> compression, so we know we can tune it. 2> Make sure the electrics are correct. 3> now we can fool around with fuel. And no this is still off topic.
Tuning is not course design. Mebbe we need a new heading? technical?
Not that I could help ,but just a thought. Someone on this board must k-no theknikal stuffes. James

Actually, that event was at Independence High School......not at Olympic. Pretty good lot, and we used to run there regularly. Cheh, it's unusable now. It's had speed bumps, islands, and something like a fence running through the middle of it ( ) for at least ten years now. I can't remember if it had the speed bumps while I attended there (Class of '88), but I don't think it was long after.

I used to use the inside of a 5 1/4 " floppy to set the points on my TR7. Had to get closer than a matchbook.

Any bets as to where the stray car will be on this NTI course? Camaro at turn 2 last year. Pickup at the finish earlier this year.

I'd rather see those stray cars used for pivot points thatn the cones fromt eh last one The first time we ran there in Dec of last year, it was a great course, no 1st gear even in my 40HP bug. Do what you need to do, crossovers or whatever! Of course this means it will probobly all be 1st gear and pivot cone ;D

I still have nightmares about that Blue Camaro off of turn 2. Decided to go for the concrete.
Pivot cones don't bother me much. My car has massive trail throttle/braking oversteer - fun!
