Registration for the HPDE will be extended until Monday. Guys, get signed up, bring a friend, help us fill up this event! Here's all the info: www.ccrscca.com/PDESept.htmAs far as the tech form. What we are asking for is that you get an experienced mechanic to look at your car and confirm it looks ok. If none of you have a friend that is experienced, please email me and I will arrange to pre-tech your car in Charlotte prior to the event. pleiades@subaruworld.net Steven

How many people are signed up? I as going to skip it because I just ran CMP last month -- but if the groups will be small I might sign up.

Likewize....my fiesta is missing a few items....like wipers, brake lights, etc...doubt if my autocross wheel alignment is appropriate for the track anyways. Thought about the Camaro, but it is so underpowered we were a speed bump at the Solo event last year...

Can anyone confirm whether there will be loaner helmets?
I talked a friend into signing up and I need to let him know if he needs to buy a helmet before the weekend.

Howdy. - just back from the HPDE - Sheryl and I did Regs. Looks like everyone had a great time - fantastic weather. If you didn't spend it this weekend flogging your car somewhere - then you need serious counseling!!!! LOL.
Next time I need to take something down there to drive!

This was a really good event and so worth the money. I learned a ton about driving - I've never driven a car that hard. I got at least 2.5 hours on track at speed and I could have had 4 if I didn't have issues with my brakes on saturday morning. Getting a 3800lb sport sedan up to 110mph and standing on the brakes heading into a sharp right turn is totally nuts peak experience. Everybody remotely interested should plan for April and save up for it. The instructors were top notch (they must have 5 balls to ride on track with novices at 100mph+) were patient and knew how to coach novices. I showed up completely green and by the end of day 2 I was able to take the track at speed making all of the turn in and braking points somewhat consistently and even starting to experiment. Very awesome. The event is very hard on brakes.

I wish I had been able to make it, sounds like it was a great time. During my pre-event inspection Thursday night I found a mechanical issue that would be unsafe on track, so I had to cancel.
Next time . . .

I also say that it was an awsome event. I had lots of fun and felt it was well worth the money.
I also had car issues, nothing major, just unecpected. I also burned brakes this weekend. On saturday my crx had computer problems so i brought the turbo tercel out on sunday. The tercel ran like a champ but burned the brand new front pads down to metal after 40 minutes of run time.
So for anybody considering doing the next PDE, just be sure your brakes are 100%.

Also wanted to say
Thanks! to all who made the event possible and so much fun for us newbies to track trials. Getting time on a full race course was so cool I'm at a lose for words, it was just cool.
The track was clean organized and the people there did a great job, making the weekend that much more enjoyable.
Thanks

I too had a blast! I do not remember the last time I had that much fun for a whole weekend. I wanted to say thanks again to the hosts and instructors. You all put on a great event. I learned alot this weekend...brakes and good tires are needed for track day. Very please with my car all in all. Again this was a great weekend.

I think they are making a concerted effort to advertise to the SCCA. They showed up at the SCR autocross in Florence a week and a half ago.

I've begun to save the money for spring I'll have give those brakes a good going over. With drums, I'm more afraid of fade than wear. Red Bull and Vodka, not for the track, but great anywhere else ;D
