FYI - we were asked to form a solo website committee. This committee was submitted to the BoD.
The fact they asked for a committee is a good sign that the BoD is concerned about the Solo Community.
I hope, and I am looking forward to the fact that this issue will be addressed soon.
The committee consists of Rich Little, Steve Shin, Shane Findlan and me. We will elect a chairman at the Board's recognition, and of course, all of your inputs will always be welcome.
In fact, I'm really just on it for formation purposes, and probably next year we would want to possible add more members to the committee.

I certainly understand that; I appreciate it; and I have seen them. But they belong on the CCR page in my mind. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks they should be on the CCR Page?  ?? |

Please understand this.....
It is not the lack of Solo Results being posted to the CCR Website that I see as a problem.
It is only a symptom of a bigger problem.
I seriously fear for the future of CCR Solo. I have seen it in "up times," and I have seen it in "down times."
The leadership for the last several years has been excellent, but now- all of a sudden it seems - the program is being ignored from above the Solo level.
There is (and always has been) a cry for volunteers from the powers that be in CCR. Yet when Solo competitors try to step forward to help.....they seem to be ignored.
Does anybody think that is not the case as it currently exists?

As my wife reminds me regularly, I'm driving my car around in circles trying not to hit rubber cones in a parking lot. What could be less important than that?? Think if guys running track ran around a rubber cone obstacle course instead of a fancy track (be it oval or otherwise)-- we'd think they were nuts too.
In case someone's sarcasm meter is borked, that was, in fact, sarcasm. Despite my posted times, I do actually very much enjoy the fine art of driving my tiny chick car around said rubber cones. That's part of the reason I invited a bunch of friends to come up and watch this weekend, because the idea of it sounds utterly retarded out loud.

 And when I talk to people about autox'in, an they tell me about their turbocharged, intercooled, supercharged, Civic Hatch with a B18 DOHC, V-tec, double clutch,.....an how much faster it is than my stock ole CRX,...... I just ask 'em, "Well, can ya DRIVE it ??" Ain't got none of 'em to show up yet,... but I'm workin'on it. I know ya can outrun me in a straight line,..... But can ya OUTDRIVE me?? Intimidates the hell outta most of em !!! An the bad part is,.... They have no idea what their missin !!! ;D I luv havin fun in a cheap slow car!!!

You certainly may disagree with me, and I hope you are correct, but I see it as a lack of committment from CCR to Solo....not just a communication issue. There have been enough complaints made. If anyone cared, they would have been addressed....somehow, some way. Just take a look at th SCR-SCCA website,...... Thats what OURS should look like !!!!! Up to date !! Case in point!!!! There's a committment level in SCR, and a willingness to accept help that doesn't seem to exist in CCR. |

Well the board DID offer to have JB chair a web site committee... what has happened with that?
I know that Steve and I have both offered to help update the site. Justin offered to create a utility that would allow us to update the site easily...
Guess they forgot about it...

I still agree.....somehow I agreed to be on the Solo Website Committee and other than the initial letter of intent, I haven't seen anything since.
BTW - Dog Catcher ain't that bad...you get a nice Furd F-150 with A/C and custom paint job.
