I just saw and copied this from the SCR site. Gwinett is an awesome site and we (the SCCA community) don't need to lose it. As we all know, finding and keeping autocross venues is difficult, and the loss of one is a real blow. The Gwinnett County (Atlanta) guys are having a tough time with a small but vocal group of opponents. Please take a moment and help out by signing their online petition.
Gwinnett County Residents: www.petitiononline.com/gcautox/petition.html
Participants in Gwinnett County Events who do not live in Gwinnett County: www.petitiononline.com/gcautox2/petition.html
Thanks!

Try rebooting your laptop- turn it upside down and shake it until the screen is a nice, even silvery color...Then use the two knobs (where it sez Etch-A-Sketch) to write you name. LOL

Perhaps the few vocal opponents could be offered a comp entry fee for an event. Give them some teaching and plenty of drives in our cars. That might change their minds.

Get some of the local Drivers Ed teachers and students to come out! I have encouraged a few young drivers to try this and have received very positive feedback from parents regarding the improved confidence and driving skill of their kids. I do not understand the politics in that county, but it seems that if you can turn it into a public benefit - not just a private one - you can turn things around.

I signed the petition. Being a former resident...some of the counties down there are messed up.
BTW....Georgia does not have "Driver's Education" like they do a lot of other places. If you want anything like that...you have to do it through a private company as the schools don't offer it nor is it required to get your license.
