I don't care where you hold a social, it's not going to please everyone. However, the 2 straight downtown meetings have drawn some very respectable...if not stellar...crowds. Last night was no exception. A large crowd wearing their finest Bib and Tucker was on hand, and a good time was had by all. (1)A new Solo Director, Dave McKenzie, was voted on as Steven and all present pledged their support to him. Not only have we had great leadership from Steven, but he also has led us to a great learning experience. He leaves a program which all of us can be proud of. He leaves a program in which he built a "family" of voluteers for support. A family that hashes out and agrues after each event about what worked and what didn't work, but none the less it is a family which gets stronger with constructive analysis of each event held. It is now up to us to continue that tradition....to give Dave the same kind of support we gave Steven.....to continue to grow that support, and indeed, to grow the family. Thank you, Steven. You will be missed even though you are not going anywhere. We all deeply appreciate everything you have done for CCR Solo. (1)Reference to historic CCR verbage. I will not explain, nor will you be expected to understand.

Good to meet you too, Robbie. Just remember that people here are more than happy to help, either by PM or just posting up for general view, and that most of us will answer to either our online forum name or a real name, or you can just remember us by what we drive.
-Derek (Bogner47) sitting next to you last night in the green/tan miata-
Oh, and to beat PDawg and JByrd to the punch, your girlfriend (whose name I forget) is hereby nominated to be our official starter, if she'd like to help!

copy from other thread:
I certainly do not want to imply any criticism or infer any constraints on the process followed, but I would like to clarify that the position of Solo Chairman is conferred by CCR's elected Board of Directors. The board may assign one or more people to lead committees for any specific purpose.
Therefore the BoD will invite any proposed replacement for the Solo Chair position to the next board meeting. We will hear from the current Solo Chair and, should a proposal be made to the board regarding the position of Solo Chair, we will take a vote, discuss, and abide by the results.
I wanted to explain the process because it has been written in this forum as though a done-deal was made by a group at a social evening. There IS a formal process for this change.
None of the above is to infer that the BoD is opposed to Dave McKenzie (or any other person that is interested) as Solo Chair. Neither are we oblivious to the popular concensus of our Solo participants.
If you have any specific concern, please email me at my address listed on this site.
Sincerely, Martin Bartlett CCR Regional Executive.

likewise....copied from other thread:Neither are we oblivious to the popular concensus of our Solo participants. Cool. When did that happen? If you have any specific concern, please email me at my address listed on this site. Sincerely, Martin Bartlett CCR Regional Executive.
