It was a "difficult" finish. I coned on two of my runs there. Just one more new thing that I learned. I think "Rankin" corner ;D was much more difficult to do. But all in all, I had fun today!!

She says she is. Keeps talkin' about money and time. I told her she's welcome anytime. She may be at your Statesville event in December if I persuade her and Steven...shouldn't take too much. Besides, I need a gofer and a tirewarmer

My last run would've been a 40.8 except I absolutely plowed into two cones after the finish line. My next fastest run was good enough for first, but damn if that finish line wasn't tricky.

the finish was trickie yes, the secret was to brake before the corner then toss the car and catch, not too difficult is it. ;D
it was much more difficult than I though it was going to be. with 20-20 hindsight I would have WIDENED the exit.
I feel we had a sea of cones problem also.
thanks to all who help with the running of a great event.

the finish was trickie yes, the secret was to brake before the corner then toss the car and catch, not too difficult is it. ;D That's actually what I ended up doing on my last 3 runs. I almost overshot it on my 1st run, so starting with the 2nd run, I'd stab the brake at the gate just before the finish lights and lightly drift the car through the finish which seemed to work quite well. Never could convince myself to take the "kink" as fast as I knew the car could do it, though. Instead, I rode the brakes lightly through the kink then got back on the gas coming out of it which kept the car nice and stable through that section.

I thought the course was very well setup. I esp liked the last section it was fast, yet, is was technical and the finish was great! haha

The offset section at the end of the long straight.

That was dead straight to the Fiesta...small enuf to just set it to one side and blast thru it....Colin seemed to not need to brake there, but I used them at the cone.

Well I'm pretty sure the WRX could have flat-footed it too, but I couldn't convince myself to risk it, so I wussed out and rode through it with light-to-moderate braking (seeing and hearing about several curb near misses after that section probably had an effect on that thought process since I was in the 4th group).

The offset section at the end of the long straight. There was an offset there? Oh, yeah, I remebber now. I saw it as I wizzed pastit, just before the " oh nutse, I needta brake" took over...

Hehe...sometimes it is difficult to drive with no fear!
Personally, if the twisties are more gentle like a road coarse (like the autocrosses we have at TGPRX!), I forget to go fast and just kinda coast along. I didn't have a hard time going through the "more difficult" passages, it was the easy stuff I didn't do right! LOL. ;D

I deliberately kept the right foot planted on the floor through the last run and didden liftit...mowed the cones and was so flustered didden ebben back up to avoid a dnf... or was that a previous run...
