When will we be able to register a Permanent number for next year. I have a sponsor that is making my numbers now. I just want to make sure I can use them.

I think it's a good idea, just not sure how to make it happen. Since we do registration through the MyAutoEvents site, if a permanent number can be assigned there, we'd be set.
I'll discuss with Dave and Steven, as I'd like to make it if you get a season tech you get a permanent number.

This hasn't really been a problem in the past. Look through the numbers of the regulars in the class you want to enter, and choose one. Most of the CCR folks respect that.
For events like the NCAC, you're on your own....first to sign up gets first choice of number.
I do think it would be neat to have perm numbers though.

Yes it would. Usually it is not a problem - I have only had two times where someone wanted the same number as myself over the years.
But, the ability to have permanent numbers would be nice.

Years ago, I added the birthdays of my family members together and came up with my number, 25. It was B Stock back then. I have only had to swap it once or twice over the years, at away club events. I like the tradition, and everyone has been real gracious allowing me to keep mine.

I don't think SCR even used the function last year.....I don't remember it anyway.
It has simply not been a problem.

Update...
Dave and I talked last night about this. I'm going to have a form for everyone that gets an annual tech to fill out. On that form will be a place for your car number. Hopefully we can work it out so that the numbers are permanent. But we may only allow CCR members to get permanent numbers.
On a side note, the admin of My Auto Events says that in '07 they will be adding the functionality for permanent number reservations. I've suggested to Dave that we sign up to be a test group.

We signed up for them at the beginning of the year using My Auto Events (which leads me to believe it's already part of their functionality). There was no extra charge for permanent numbers, and they were available to SCCA members from any region that autocross with SCR.

I don't think that we will have any extra charges, but I think that we will probably make it available only for CCR members, but nothing sure yet
