No, no, no...if you're not there to hear my speech I don't think you deserve an award. Or to put it another way, anyone who sits through my speech deserves an award.....

Good idea, any awards not picked up at the banquet will be given out to those that have to listen to Martin. Any person that sits thru it and does not fall asleep will get 2 awards

Agreed. But I don't know how Martin will outdo his speech last year regarding two Jaguars, a short rope, a lorry coming the other way and Lucas Electrics. If anyone missed it, just use those ingredients and your imagination and you will get the overall idea.

Actually - it was quite a good story. Especially funny if you owned an old British car - I had quite a few until I wised up and could relate to the story. There was this time that we towed my old TR-3 off of the Ohio Turnpike with a police car....

Pretty much the case...yup, yup... Reminds me of the time I was waiting for a traffic light to change in Southern Pines. Had just left Rockingham raceway, where I was crewing for the ugliest F/v ever seen. The crank in my fine English car broke in half, between cyl. 2 and 3 (Not a Bentley ,which would have broken between cyl 5 and 6). Spent the night trying to sleep in the back seat of a Herald.
