What do you think?
I can hand out ballots at this Sundays Event.
I'll even mail 'em.
I greet almost everyone at the gate anyway.

all members should have gotten their ballots in the mail. A lot of the people showing up on Sunday are not members of the club and can not vote anyways. Which means that most of the ballots will be floating around littering the lot and we need to make a good first impression of this place so we can come back. I think it will be a beter idea for me to mention to everyone how important it is to vote and can mention the names of the people running. Dave

Although, I think it is important to mention the upcoming election and to urge the membership to vote. Dave is correct, I think distributing ballots would increase our "clean up" duties, as most of the non-members ballots would become parking lot litter getting stuck in JB's radiator and making him run hot!!! ;D

This is what I'm looking for. I did not think of litter.
But.... How about.. I bring blank Ballots. Dave, you can send Members over to me. I'll mail 'em in. I will also make copies of their Boi's. And, make sure the folks read 'em before voting.

Lets just make this an autocross and not a political event. Every member has already gotten a ballot in the mail. I will announce the names of the people running and that they can read the bios on the website, stress the importance of voting and let the members vote on their own. I would just rather not cram it down their throats at the autocross. I would like to see some of the people there get voted in but don't think that this is the way to do it. It seems more like a non-confidential ballot stuffing, even thought I know this is not what you intended. Thanks for the offer to help, but lets just go and have fun and let people vote on their own. Thanks Dave

I don't think this is a good idea either. It removes the anonymity of the voting process. Anonymity? The ballot I received asks for my name and member #.

I don't think this is a good idea either. It removes the anonymity of the voting process. Anonymity? The ballot I received asks for my name and member #. When Walter receives all the ballots at his house - and maybe after a while, all that went to the typo address - they will all be checked for completeness. The name and SCCA member number is used to verify that the person voting is a current member of CCR. We don't record who votes for whom in any way - just that you're a "real" CCR member. We don't usually announce exactly how many votes each person got. But if there's a specific request for that info, I have no issue with it being provided. I will provide the total number of votes cast. At the last public election, it was pathetically low. We don't hold BoD elections in years when the number of open positions equals the number of volunteers. In regard to receiving ballots, I do know that due to the way the mail merge program runs, if there is more than one SCCA member in a household, the first person at that address in our list will get a postcard and the second may not. (The member list we get has lots of family names and duplicates in it, so that's the easiest way to "clean" prior to mailing). It's OK to download from website or photocopy a ballot, as long as every one mailed in has a valid (and unique) CCR-SCCA membership number. Regards, Martin. CCR R.E.

Martin, What is the correct address to mail in our votes?

Well, if you're in Florida it doesn't matter where you mail them to, as they won't get counted anyway...
But for everyone else, the correct address is: Walter Stone 5117 Amity Place Charlotte, NC 28212
To be received by December 18th.
