I'm still waiting for the invitation from last year's
banquet...not to mention the region's 2005 Club Racing
season champion list! :-(

Yes to the first question, and no to the second question.
With the exception of the 4/2006 meeting (when I was hospitalized
in ICU), I was at every board meeting in 2006. The last time
that I saw our region's RE was 11/2005, and I don't recall
seeing the assistant RE too much in 2006, either. Without
a quorum in attendance, it was more like the NYR breakfast
club than a BoD meeting, with most of the agenda items ending
with "I'll have to check with Chris or Cliff on that and get
back to everyone." There was a meeting scheduled shortly after
Thanksgiving, but it was canceled the day before and tentatively
replaced by a conference call that never took place AFAIK.
We have to all remember that NYR is a *volunteer* organization,
and my only point in explaining the above is so that the
membership is aware of why things seem to be stalled. It was
*not* meant as a slight on any of the people who volunteer their
time as officers in the region! The membership would be much more
informed about club happenings if we had a regular newsletter,
but the draft copy of the first issue that I did (dated 1/2006)
for the board to review (and contribute a single page!) is still
bouncing around the trunk of my car a year later. I have content
from half a dozen people in it, and feel even more guilty than Bo
should for not getting it out the door due to the missing page
from someone on the BoD and green light to copy/mail it.
If there's an inquiring lump of mush who would like to be
RE again, I think that it could be a bloodless coup at this
point..... :-)

This is the club that Jeannie and I ran with in 2004,2005. A great bunch of people. But in "THE" metropolitan area, the average autocross turnout was much less than a hundred entrys. Their average season is 5 events.
AND they do not have a monthly soshul (soliciser) to help boost the program. 23 MILLION PEOPLE and 100 auto-x ers. The next closest events are 2- 2 1/2 hours away, as it is tuff to get off the "Island".
Am happy to be in CCR.
Now salute the stars and bars, lol
