NDCCC ?

Does CCR region do anything with the NDCCC? (New Driver Car Control Clinic) I was privileged to work/instruct at a few NDCCCs before I moved away from the AL region, and it was one of the most rewarding volunteer work I'd ever done.

I'd love to get re-involved with the NDCCC!


(BTW, let me know if you need me to explain more about what the NDCCC is about. I don't know how widespread it is, but it was my understanding that it's a national program...?)

Ask Geoff Zimmer... he does something similar...that's wid de HS students, Right?

John Hammer works something like that... the do events at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Yes, they do something like that at Lowes. However, they only take about 75 kids a session, once a year, and it fills up in about 3 minutes!!

Yes, it's for HS students. More specifically, 15-16 year olds. In the schools I helped run, 10 kids was the maximum number, and we generally had as many a year as could be organized. (Usually ended up being about 5 or 6, on different Saturdays...but that was only due to the lack of time and workers.) As of last I talked to the head of the program at ALSCCA, they have a waiting list of about 90 people and 20-30 had prepaid. We actually had a few instances where the kids (and the parents) decided to come out to an autocross because they enjoyed the school so much! It was a great service to give for the kids, generated some revenue for the region, and was FUN besides...

I would definitely like to know more about these schools at Lowes... and I guess I'll try to message Geoff Zimmer also...
