OK folks, we are rescheduling the rained-out November 12th event at Orange County Speedway for Sunday, December 3rd! We had a great crowd show up in the pouring rain back on the 12th, and I think everyone who saw the site was excited about running there. Now, with a little help from Mother Nature, we will be! So come on out and help us show the folks at OCS that rallycross events can draw a crowd, and start our relationship with them off right! Even if you can't compete, I hope you'll come out to spectate and check out the place. Onine registration for the event is now open and, although not mandatory, we do we appreciate when y'all sign up online. It helps us know the size of the event, set up run groups in advance, and of course notify you if something important happens. Now that we know a bit more about the site, we will be making the decision about whether we need to cancel this event by noon on Saturday, December 2nd. Find information about this rallycross, including times, prices, and directions, at thscc.com/rallycross/events/2006/2006-1203info.htmlThe online sign-up form (even pay with Paypal if you want!) is found at thscc.com/rallycross/prereg_rallyx.htmlHope to see you there! Just a reminder that THSCC's final rallycross of the 2006 season, and our debut event at Orange County Speedway is coming up this Sunday, December 3rd. We would like to have a good turnout to show the owners of the site that rallycrosses are a new and exciting form of motorsports competition, and help them see the potential of the sport as a business opportunity for them. So not only would we like you to come out, but bring some friends to crew or spectate! The track facility will be making food available for sale to us. As you may recall, we had to cancel our November 12th at this site at the event due to heavy rains that made the course impassable. With a chance of rain in the forecast for Thursday and Friday, we will be assessing the course conditions on Saturday morning and making a decision at that time whether to hold the event on Sunday or not. Notification of event status will be handled in 2 ways: - Competitors who have signed up online will be notified by email either way- go or no-go.
- The "Tarheel Tire Chirps" popup on the main page at www.thscc.com will be updated with a notice only if the event is canceled. If you use a popup blocker, you will need to click the "Tarheel Tire Chirps" link centered below the club logo. If the Tire Chirps does not say the event is canceled, then it is ON!
If you want to sign up online, it's quick and easy and can be done at thscc.com/rallycross/prereg_rallyx.htmlEvent details, including schedules, prices and directions, can be found at thscc.com/rallycross/events/2006/2006-1203info.htmlThanks, and hope to see you there! Carl

Despite some early concerns about the weather, we held the event as scheduled, and it was a lot of fun! 33 drivers, plus a a pretty decent crop of spectators, turned out to check out the inaugural event at the site. As the early drivers tore the grass off the virgin field, times started to suffer as they exposed some slick, still-wet clay underneath, but soon that started to dry off, and by the afternoon speeds were improving. The elevation changes were a lot of fun, and there were virtually no ruts created, so the consensus was that we should definitely return to this site for future events. Results are posted now at thscc.com/rallycross/events/index.htmlIt's the last event on the page, "Rallycross ROCS". Thanks to all of you who came out to an event this year and kept our program growing, and hope to see you again in 2007! Carl

I finally got the video from the OCS event finished and online. It's only about 3 mins long, so the clips are real short and lots of folks aren't shown. But I'm working now on putting together the raw video clips for each driver like I did for "Jump to Conclusions"; hopefully they'll be up in the next few days. I put it to music (though I turned it down more than last time) - you can find it here: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7349185902327642701&hl=enIf you're totally tired of hearing that song by now (I know I am), I made a version without music also: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4963532131296704725&hl=enHope y'all enjoy! I've added raw footage from each driver at the 12/3/2006 event to Google video, so if you want to see what you (or someone else) looked like out there, this should give you a much better idea than from looking at the highlight video. To find the clips, go to video.google.com and search for "THSCC Rallycross 12/3/2006". Scroll through the list to find the footage you're looking for. Enjoy! Carl
