Hey y'all, Lots of folks have reqested that we put on a rallycross school early in the year. So on Saturday, March 24th we'll be having one on the grounds of Orange County Speedway, near Roxboro, NC. This will be an "all-purpose" school, suitable for: - n00bs who want to see what the sport is about and get a good start
- more experienced drivers who want to discover and correct bad habits they might have developed
- experienced drivers who have specific features/items they'd like to work on
We will have instructors of all levels available who want to make you a better rallycrosser! Class size will be very limited, so sign up now! More details on the school can be found at thscc.com/rallycross/events/2007/2007-0324info.htmlThen, on Sunday we'll be having a regular rallycross competition at the same site, where Saturday's students will get a chance to apply the lessons they learned and hopefully take home a trophy! Information about Sunday's event can be found at thscc.com/rallycross/events/2007/2007-0325info.htmlWe are looking into hotel and camping options in the area and will add that information to the web pages when it's available. In the meantime, signing up online is highly recommended, as space is limited and the online registrants have priority over walk-ups. It's quick and easy, and you can even pay (Paypal, Echeck, or credit card) online if you want! Do that at thscc.com/rallycross/prereg_rallyx.htmlHope to see y'all there! Carl

Our rallycross school and rallycross are coming up next weekend on the 24th and 25th of March, and I've got good news and bad news for you: The bad news is that we already hit our entry limit of 24 students. The good news is that we're recruited 2 more instructors so we're able to bump our entry limit up to 28! That's right, math whizzes, we're planning to have only 2 students per instructor, and since 1 student will be working at any given time, that means you willl be getting 1-on-1 instruction from some of the best rallycrossers in the area! BUT, if your plan was to just show up on the day of the school expecting to get in, I would seriously suggest you go online and get on the entry list (even if it's only on the waiting list) as soon as possible. Some folks are bound not to show up, and we will be giving people who have pre-registered priority over walk-ups. In the meantime we'll be seeing what we can do to accommodate everyone who want to attend. Again, find that registration page at thscc.com/rallycross/prereg_rallyx.htmlthere you'll also find links to the event info pages for each day's events. Sunday's event is also filling up well, but we've still got plenty of room for more folks there. I can promise you a fast and fun course that will not get rutted up like some of our other sites do! Hope to see y'all there! Carl

It was a perfect weekend for rallycrossing, and 21 students took advantage of the school on Saturday. Everyone got a ton of runs at each of 3 stations, which we connected together in the afternoon, then everyone got 7 runs on that! Everyone seemed to really have a good time, and the students' speed was clearly greatly improved. Sunday was another beautiful day, and we set a new attendance record with 45 drivers coming out to enjoy a pair of fast but challenging courses. The surface at the Orange County Speedway site lived up to its expections and hardly rutted at all, becoming hard and very grippy once the topsoil was all gone. Results for Sunday's competition are now posted online at thscc.com/rallycross/events/index.htmlOur next event is Saturday, May 12th in Clayton, NC. Hope to see someof y'all there! Carl

Well it was taking me too long to get around to making a highlight video, so I just decided to make the individual driver clips instead. They should all be up on Google Video now, although it doesn't look like they're all indexed yet because the search (below) doesn't return all of them yet. All I can say is, if you don't find your clip with this search, wait a day or 2 then try again. If you still don't see it then let me know and I'll see if I can figure out what happened. Thanks, and enjoy! video.google.com/videosearch?q=THSCC+Rallycross+03%2F25%2F2007P.S. The "dust cape" that I had the camera in muffled the engine sounds a bit, and also added these "crinkling" noises- hopefully they're not too distracting.
