where can you get tires shaved? And is this usually done with or without the wheel on it. Or is there actually someone that sells Azenis and shaves them? Thanks

Check out the ads in SportsCar or Grassroots, several tire folks, including TireRack and Vulcan sell shaved tires. You can even get them heat cycled.

Bring them to me. I will shave them for you, but it's best to wait until a day before the first event.

There's a place here in Greensboro called Hall Tire on 421 S that does them for $10 a tire. Scott Sawyer and I have had pretty good luck with them. They shaved my 615's this year. It's done with the wheel on them.

There is, also in Greensboro, a place called Hendrix Wire Wheel. I think they can shave tires.

There is, also in Greensboro, a place called Hendrix Wire Wheel. I think they can shave tires. Joe Downer GS '03 Mini Cooper S Hendrix Wire Wheel: www.hendrixwirewheel.com/definitely shaves tires - it is done with the tire on the wheel - and after its done, your tires wil be PERFECTLY round. He'll shave off as much as you want or he'll just shave them to true round. I've had Allen Hendrix shave and balance 2 sets - I may never have another set of competition tires mounted without having Allen mount and shave them to true round - it makes a huge difference - of course YMMV - those of you running modern cars with modern suspension may never notice your tires aren't round. Cheers, Jack Mc

I had a place in Atlanta, and Savannah, that would shave them to true them. But, I can't help you in this area.

Actually it's the same equipment in most cases that they use to shave 'race' tires that used to be used for truing tires. FWIW, I'm not sure those shops posted above can do anything over 15". If they can, please post here and let us know, if they can't email me and I will give you another place to check. Steven
