Does anyone have a set of corner weight scales that I could borrow or even have supervised access to so that I can corner weight my old car with the new coilovers?

Oooh, look at me, I'm Clark with my fancy-schmancy new coilovers! Different class or not, you're mine this year, STS2 boy! Mwahahaa!!! As a side note, I know its the other end of the world from you, but I've got my preseason alignment scheduled for this Monday at Taylor's Sport and Import up in Mooresville. Apparently they know a few of us in the SCCA world, and it was mentioned that they did (or continue to do) some work for one of the better driver's among us who will remain nameless but requires the 4-wheel dyno that they have. I guess my point is, I've heard good things, and I'm pretty sure they do corner-weighting alignments if you wanted to take it someplace. www.taylorsimports.com/

Give keith my best wishes. He sold me my helmet, and I helped bob smith when they were installing the dyno there. I bought the baby nuts orange Datsun B210 that was behind the shop a few years ago before I bought my miata.

I certainly will do that. I'm curious about that Datsun, and how as a new married man you get away with all these vehicles?! What's the word on the job/move anyways, will you be sticking around a bit longer, hopefully?

The job position is still open to me, but both the wife and I are more and more hesitant to move away since we've both made friends here in charlotte faster than expected. It's still the best career move for me, but I may just start looking harder around here. Does anyone here know of any promising sales jobs in the area? I'm pretty good at what I do.

If you offered to work the CCR National Races on Feb 17 & 18 at CMP it would be greatly appreciated, such that we would probably be OK with you using the Club's scales sometime during the weekend to corner weight your ve-hickle.....

I'm interested in helping. What sort of work would I be doing? I can't commit yet, because I'm scheduled to work that weekend, but I'm trying to get off. When would I have to know by?

Sorry for not replying sooner - was away for 4 days at SCCA convention.
Are you a SCCA member? (if not let me know so I can arrange the suitable work-around).
Help at Tech is always welcome. For teh February event they will be working Friday evening, checking cars and driver equipment. Usually from about 5pm to 8pm. Don't use scales at that time though.
Tech will really become active on Sunday 18th. Rules require first 3 cars of every race group to be weighed after their race. (The scales would be available to use prior to first race and between race groups).
We appreciate help in getting cars onto scales (moving pads to accommodate different track widths), recording weights, and this year there will be two other items that must be checked (don't know what they are yet, the Chief Steward and Chief of Tech will decide them at the track).
We provide breakfast and lunch Sat & Sun to our workers. If you're there on Saturday evening we have a social gathering with food and (if 21 & over) booze. If you work all weekend, motel accommodation can be provided.
You can also help in Pit and Grid and we can arrange for you to work a corner. If you're considering working one of those positions, buying a pair of white painter's pants is useful, as those positions should wear white. At this event a xxl white t-shirt worn over a warm jacket would be good idea too.
You can help in Timing and Registration too, which are both inside warm buildings...
Hope this helps.

Hi PW..BTW - I called Topeka..and at Dick's advice am now set up with my reginonal scrutineer and Pit/Grid Licenses. So, while Sheryl (TireBuyer) deals with the registration stuff - feel free to put me where you need me. Looking forward to it!

Shane,
I hope you enjoyed where you were put!
Now that you're skilled with the Scales, I guess you'll be offering corner weighting service to all prospective race-Tech guys for a small fee of cold beer and kersosene...

I really enjoyed tech - and I now know how to do corner weighting! We even did Laguna's Miata...and folks would be amazed at the number we saw on that car!
Yep...cold beer and kerosene for those cold nights at tech. Looking forward to the next one. I'll send ya a PM about that - Sheryl and I are wondering about details for the April TT/AX event.
