AN OLD TIMER NEEDS HELP FOR CLASS AND ROLL CAGE

I would like some feedback on what class you think that this car will run in both SOLO 2 and TT. The car is in the process of mainly being set up to run in Land Speed Races at Maxton, NC and at Bonneville mainly just to have fun and be safe, but I would also like to run it in some SCCA events too.

It has been twenty years since I competed in both SCCA SOLO 1 and SOLO 2 events, but now I'm really not concerned about being competitive, but like I mentioned before the car is being built to have fun in. Any advice that you can shoot my way would be appreciated. Here is a list of modifications and equipment that we have or will soon add to the car. You can see photos of the progress by clicking on the link in my signature at the bottom.

I would also like some advice on what requirements there are for the door bars on a roll cage being used for SCCA TT events. Can the bars be detachable type, such as a bolt in?

How about joining Team Beer in the Solo 2 division. We don't care about class.

for solo2 you are looking at SM or EM due to the engine swap for TT I am not sure....

As far as I know the SCCA requires solidly mounted door bars.

At this time door bars are not required for Time Trial events. If you wnat to add them go to the SCCA web site and find the Club Racing section on the left side of the intro page. The Club Racing GCR will provide specifications for construction.
It appears that your car modifications would class it in Street Mod, but the allowances are found in the Solo GCR.

It sounds like Street Modified to me, assuming you haven't gutted the interior (except for removing the rear seat which is legal in Street Mod).

Either way bring it out and run it that thing sounds like a TON of fun

Bring it to the Solo events so we can look at it, drive it, play with it, and i am sure after a few runs we can figger out how to Class it.

Rich may even let it pass Tech if you let him try it out. ROFL!
